    Thai home build in Issan.

Hi Guys,Thai home build in Issan.-479c6d06-f4ef-4f36-906b-6b4dde1e1816-jpeg

I was on here awhile back looking at home builds and I have to say I did get a lot of ideas. Thanks to all the comments and photos. I started this build a few years back and doing a slow build. Most of the ideas came straight from my head as we started building.
I hope to press on from here and show everyone from this point forward of this big project I started.

The build started early 2018 and had moved on slowly. Had some builder problems and stopped twice. We found a great builder and he does great work. Has been gone since Covid got bad and just waiting for his return. In the mean time we have been cleaning up the property. It started out as a rice field and I built up the dirt on most of the property between 2015-2016. I will post much more pictures of the progress.

Hi Malmomike77 thank you for that tip. Here are a few more photos. One is of a barn for cows that is about 50 meters away from the home. Another from forms being built for the new front section of the home.

Sorry I put the pictures up wrong again. Here is a picture from the start of putting the steel up on the far right side room. That room is 6.15 M Wide x 8.8 M Long. Measured inside. 6”x2” double header 2.8 mm thick. 4”x2” roof trusses 2.3mm thick. Also a side porch behind this room under the same roof. 6 M Wide x 5 M Long.

Posting pictures on TD can be a bit random Vet, nonetheless it would be worth giving MM's suggestion a try. It makes the pics much easier to view.

You can use the edit function below the post, once you've posted to correct the sizing error. Just edit post, double click the pic and select full size. You only have a finite amount of time to do this, i forget how long.

I will try to get these pictures right. Here is a other view of that room that was built on the right side of the home. Columns made with 12mm rebar. All along the bottom footings, etc all 12 mm rebar. Wire mesh is 4mm- 20 cm x 20 cm spacing. Columns are just about 20cm square. Bottom supports are 40cm deep to all columns. Floor is 15 thick as well as footpath is 15 cm thick. Q-Con block and a Blue Scope white roof.

We used underground cable for the Main Electrical Service. 100 meter Roll Yazaki NYY 4 wire 50 mm size. Placed about 80 cm underground 90 meters run to electrical pole on the street. Will be using 30/100 single phase for now. If 3-Phase is ever brought down or near my road I am ready with the 4 wire NYY cable.

We built the bottom kitchen cabinets out of red brick and poured concrete tops. Using 9mm steel welded like wire mesh. There is a outside Thai kitchen as well as a Western main Kitchen 5 M Wide x 10.6 M Long. Cook Tops will be Gas and using Electric Ovens.

Just caught up with this one - great - more build threads. Looks like you had a similar lead in time to me!

    Couple of questions...

    1. is there a floor plan available so we can get an idea of what goes where?
    2. Any plans for heat reduction, solar heating / electricity, water harvesting, etc, so we can get a better idea of what's to come, and then watch those ideas develop?

Anyway... good luck and keep the pictures coming.

Hi, It has been awhile since posting. Hoping the builders come back soon. They left a few months ago and still have not returned. I will hopefully get this project going soon again.
