A bit of a drip always on the perimeter of things?
I'd have thought you'd approve.
Does the mist encourage extra mould growth in ones kitchen.
Can one introduce different colours, scents or even mind enhancing chemicals, during your Saturday night raves?
^^ Dang nabbit
Good question, I wouldn't use it in a kitchen for a host of reasons unless you are using as a fire safety system....
555. Yes I suppose you could. Be a messy clean up with the colors but I do like the idea of mind enhancing chemicals, liquid Yaba??? That could be a lot of fun....with the right people of course.
I have considered a misting system for my place. I have a friend however who is a microbiologist on a tropical diseases research project at Mahidol and he commented that his colleagues refer to the misting fans and sprays as "LDDS" (Legionnaire's Disease Dispersal Systems).
Put me off a bit.
I could see that being a concern, especially depends on the water source. If one was using, creek water, well water or water that was held from rain etc. that could be a risk due to bacteria. This is why I set my water pick up in my pre filtered water tank. I hope there is no problem as we use that water for everything from showering and drinking.
Its a good point to add to the thread.
Nonetheless, best to ya regarding all your current [no pun intended] property projects, JP...
All about trial and error -
Learning from experience.
Cheers!
Well JPPR2, I was walking along Sukhumvit Road yesterday and I came across this...
...and with this thread in mind I thought, 'what's going on 'ere then?'
A close-up of a nozzle from the outside.
I couldn't leave the job half done, so went inside for further investigation... and believe me, I was in no way ready for that pint!
That pint was a real struggle to get down, as was the second, but they gave me time for some research. I had considered back-charging the cost of the beer to you, but it was happy hour so no big deal.
A nozzle from the inside...
And the water supply... the green hose was attached to the usual pale blue pvc piping along the flower bed at the right of the picture.
The inlet and outlet... I at first assumed this was some kind of pump, but could see no power supply. Do these systems run purely on mains water pressure? Maybe this was just a filter? Must admit, I couldn't really work out the pipework and valve assembly to the left.
And here it is, in all it's glory... spurting mist out on to the pavement. To be honest I couldn't really discern any cooling effect at all from this system, but it was fun to watch the pedestrians turning away and masking their faces from the mist. I think it was a bit windy to be effective, and also the big fans in the seating area blew the mist away and directly out to the pavement. I don't think they've really thought it through at this place...
The wind turned around a couple of times and I got a face full of mist. I can see why people turn away... it leaves smudges on yer glasses and could get a bit annoying I reckon.
Thanks for that Mendip.
Couple of comments.
1) They should had me install it, That looks like a hack job and I assume that's straight up city water through some filter cartridge they never change
2) It looks like it works and keeps people comfy
3) As for the glasses, That would be the only downside I suppose if you wear them.
4) Life is good drinking a beer and relaxing
I wouldn't say I 'hated' it, but when it came down to keeping people cool, the fans did all the work... the mist was just for show.
And the smudging is an annoying issue for glasses wearers. The misters they installed under footbridges across Korat's main road used to dribble down on your windscreen making smudges in the dust. You had to constantly put on the windscreen washers and wipers which also became annoying. I reckon Klondyke's glasses wouldn't be a bad idea at all!
Well I guess one thing about our mister is that you do not sit under it. It's more to offer a cool feeling. Honestly I was more interested in the airborne particle control. We do not have smoke or pollution much in our part of Lampang but I have seen days that are hazy when all that smoke finally gets packed in and then blown over the mountain range from CM.
I will say this. My Golden Retriever loves sitting under them. But she is also the one that sits in my Lotus pots to stay cool.
What's wrong with this picture......
Looks OK to me, blue screen with your details/text on the left.
