Hi
Any questions re Sai lo Fa (lightning rod) install. Ask away

I know of a few guys that may be up your alley. Generally alll that is required is a copper shaft. Three or four feet under. Then thai off to it. It may save your life.
^^
I'm confused.
I guess I should have been more clear. Im offering free advice.
Im retired now. Had a registered Thai company in Bangkok for 7 years doing Lightning protection, grounding and surge protection for Thai gov, US embassy, Toyota, many homes in LOS.
So if you need to know how Im quite and expert. Was a licensed electrical contractor i California for 35 years......
What's the easiest way to protect the compute from cutouts, and would this include surges?
I do backups every couple of weeks, but a few months ago it still cost me a bundle to recover the most recent lost data files.

#1. You must have a proper ground at you panel . # 16mm2 for 100 amp or less pael. # 25mm2 for 200 amp.
Connected to neutral and ground buss only at main panel. Must be seperated at sub panel.
#2 ground rod 2m min 3 is better copper clad steel. connected with a brass ground clamp. Any plugs with a ground pin must be connected to ground buss.
#3. main panel surge protector must be suplemented by a good surge protector power strip at each sensitive electronic componet. with a grounded plug.
The cheap Thai/ Chinese ones are pretty bad..very cheap movs with inferior coils. Stabil is the only Thai brand I recomend. Or go Euro/ us made.
#4 Do you need lightning protection?
are you the tallest building in the area? Have you already been hit?
On a computer/modem or any internet connected device you will need a surge protector on the data line. If fibre no.
I can help you design a system for your house if you like.
Dont use Aluminum wire or strike points.Copper is far superior
There is so much info to cover..I would need more details and a photo of your place.
If condo or apt 7 stories or higher Thai law requires owner to provide system.
Cheers
Jack
Don't take shelter under a tree.
Buy a ups with good surge protection. Follow advice given above. If you are getting a shock when youre bare foot and touching metal on computer. You have a faulty ground.
Look at Stabil website in Thailand alot of great info.
Yes and stay away from golf courses during a storm....
That is what I like about TD. Always folks trying to keep it real. Don't loose that. Don't loose the UPS. They send you packages an stuff.
Seriously find a guy. Not sure mine is in your area
dudes work for us.
uninterrupted power supply (battery back up with surge protection)

How to get a lightning rod?
They seem to be rare in the villages. And rural Thais don't want them, even they know what it is.
