Lots of nice pics. I remember they used to build walls then knock out doors and windows !!!

Got a few pictures today. Looks like things are moving along nicely.
The partition wall is finished I'm real happy with the result.
The main bathroom looks to be about finished as well.
Leveling up the toilet.
Vanity top is ready to go. That's not the stone we picked but I'm not saying anything. That's the local Tak granite it's pretty dark but still ok.
Shower is finished I'm glad we asked them to move the wall over it would have been a tight squeeze otherwise around the vanity.
New larger vanity door. Made up locally looks good in the picture.
My little kitchen. Just for making coffee and sandwiches.
As usual a small misunderstanding. It was supposed to be tight against the wall.
This will have the same stone top and a little sink. Maybe we can use the granite we picked for this one.

I like the "partion wall" that is the best way to hide a mid room column I have seen. Leaving a gap underneath is well done as well as it won't let dust and crap build up in the corner.
As for your little kitchen, it looks like it is free standing so you should be able to push it over without any issues.
It looks like there is plenty of room the walk to the shitter between the vanity and the shower wall in your main bathroom.
What did you decide to do with the small bathroom? I thought I had posted a reply with my idea but it seems to have not made it.
I suggested just installing a Thai squat toilet and a hose. The hose would be both a bum gun and a shower, you wouldn't need to use it as you would have the other bathroom.
As for levelling the toilet, why not have it leaning to the back a little so you can "lay" back and snooze while waiting for the inspiration to come?
Looks like it is going very well.
Cheers
^ Thanks, unfortunately the kitchen is all set. I got pictures last night they already put on the counter top. I now know why the contractor is pointing at our metal toe-kick in the picture above. The didn't know what it was and used it for a counter back splash . So now someone is on the way to Sukhothai to order more. I somehow don't seem to worried about the small stuff it will all get sorted out.
That metal will be coming off and a stone backsplash going in. I'm hoping to get a matching wood filler for the big gap at the wall.
Vanity top is in as well.
The small bathroom will be getting a standard toilet and wooden vanity. No squat toilets for me thanks.
Well the house is done for now. Here are a few pictures sister sent. I will update with more when we arrive back in January.
Front porch is done. Looking forward to having my morning coffee out there.
Small bathroom I'm pretty happy with the bright colors.
Looks like the painter is finishing up the seat in this one.
It all looks ok in the pictures we will see how it turned out in Jan. There are a quite few things that still need doing but will take care of the rest when we arrive.
Looks like some of our flowering trees survived it all. The garden is still a wreck we will start on that when we get back.
Mike, Looking good, i really like the accent wood touches, are you going to leave them unvarnished or put some clear on?
This river bank gets overgrow so fast.
The vines are taking over the steps.
I was worried that the last guy cut it back to much but it all came right back.
One last sunset compliments of SIL. I am looking forward to getting back there.
First rate build. But love the view most of all. Hope u enjoy the place for years to come.
Thanks for the kind words.
We will get some comfy chairs for the porch from that place along the highway north of Kamphaeng phet.
Also planning on a covered deck or small sala on the river bank but have to do it in small steps as to not upset the locals. We still have a lot to do.
I see often the cutouts made like this. In my idea the washing basin should be placed close to front. Also the faucet needs to bring the water more to the center, otherwise the water flows only at the rear wall, quite dificult to reach with the hands - over our fat belly.
Then, after one hands washing the desk has to be wiped around. Can be seen at all department stores, airports, etc.
You're right.
In every practical sense it...doesn't really make sense, does it?
If the sink is raised there is also less spillage.
^The soapy spillage does not come from the sink but from your hands, face...
I have a wooden desk around the sink - it's not teak but acacia - and not very well kept every day (poor people, not having a maid) - it's there over 10 years, still OK.
Looking great.
That looks fantastic Mike, well done.
btw we have the same floor tiles.
Thanks I'm looking forward to getting back there in a few weeks and checking it out.
What are the odds of two falangs with the same tile. Good taste or didn't let the wife do all the selections ha.
If anyone is passing through Tak in January or early February let me know I'll treat you to a cappuccino and tour of the riverside.
