are there any fish in the river,that would be an ideal platform to cast off or dive for a swim.

There are quite a few guys fishing in the river I'm not sure what there going for yet. I plan to try a bit of fishing from the pier and will use it to launch our tubes.

some of these guys have permanent lines out that they check every day.

Here are a few of the electricians fixing a limp pole and installing a few lights.

This pole closest to the house was ready to snap. Don't mind the aluminium ladder with the live wire draped on it.



A bit later the electric company was around to fit a new pole. Back home this would take months to set up here only two days a great thing about Thailand.



Out on the road it was totally dark at night so we added a light. The guys didn't want to try fixing the main street light. MIL is there counting truck loads of dirt cought the guys out on he first day by 19 loads.

One of the guys had this cool homemade straight line.

There was this big tree stump near the old garage we had cut out. Our nephew cut it out for use then came back with his gang to cut it into slabs for tables or something.

We ordered some trees at the Saturday market in Tak the previous weekend and went down to check it out before they brought them over. This old guy and his wife were really nice.

Here they are loading the ones we picked.



They finally found the place it was pouring rain all day. It didn't slow them down at all.

Last big one for the day then they were off to another job.

Sorry this is turning into more of a construction thread than travel. That really was the purpose of our trip and was jammed everyday with it.

We stopped into a granite place on the main highway in Tak to pick something for my little kitchen and one of the bathrooms. I couldn't believe how archaic the machinery was.

It was very interesting to have a look around.


There was only one guy there working this day. Polishing all that stone by hand with this big machine. Crazy polishing all that stone this way.



One down 1,000,000 to go.

Back at the house the they got started on the replacement garage. it will be a pretty basic building with two 10 meter parking spaces and a 2.5 meter storage area 7 meters deep.

Here is the outline. It will also include sprucing up the outside bathroom.

We have only been home just over a week. These pictures are coming in courtesy of my wife's sister.

Poles already down and main slab poured. No turning back now.

We have a different contractor doing the main house and they also started last week.

Here is the house. its small but ok for right now.



It's to bad about that roof color.

Here are the two holes for waste water. The previous owner had everything but the toilets running out onto the ground. It was pretty bad.



I thought they would use those big tanks but I see they made it out of brick.
