Waiting for the countertop in the kitchen and my bit of work in the kitchen

...in fact we had to wait for the counter top of the kitchen, our "blue pearl granite"

so the blokes with the granite came from BKK and 2 other kitchen-builder from STARMARK came on the 3.2.17.....

they worked all day until late evening...because the first 2 kitchen builder didnt do much-
didnt align all the stuff proper...so the new guys had to redo most of it......

...the end result looks like this........apart from the one high cabinet which is still in transit....as of today as well.....

...once the kitchen and stone builder left....made some lights for them too....
my wife wants daylight in the kitchen.......i wont argue with her......

....the sparky in action (me) ....ive hooked up the induction plate and oven so far...now its the hood in the kitchen....

mounting plate is on....hook up the hood........

...and drill the hole for the pipe......love my cordless drill....all done with one battery...

..installed the outdoor cover.....a bit of silicon to close the small gaps.....and mounted the frame for the cover over the hood.....

....and put the cover on....no problem at all....

the solar hot water system is coming...

..last Monday,3 guys came and installed the hot water on the roof....

...one of the two units for the roof...

    ...2. part of the unit....

...installing the holding frame for the unit...

...and the unit is up...just some piping to do...

    ...and its all done...

    ...and from a different angle.....

......and the next day when the guys left i went into the roof-space and had a look.....
they have done a good job too....as the kitchen builder and stone people...i forgot about it to mention......

...we have the green pipe for the hot water....originally there was the white one....but they had some problems on other houses....so they asked us and we changed it to the green...SCG brand.....of course......

on the original contract were only about 3 points for hot-water....thats it......upper level.....
we changed it to every sink, shower and kitchen and bath-tube.....and the water is extremely hot ......

...the furniture is coming...all of it...what the f*@# is going on?

    ...3 days ago,SB Design came to install the inbuilt furniture...thats all....not with the couch,bar stools,TV unit,cabinets etc......

it was a mistake with the furniture, which SB Design then said sorry and they gonna take it back again until the house is finished proper....

we changed the dates already 3 times for the inbuilt....because of PD HOUSE.....they couldnt make it,not even now......

we said, install it now ...they have to cover it when they still fix the ceilings and painting it new....or they gonna pay for cleaning or-and damage....

PD HOUSE f%#@&* it up big time in that regard,completely.....
3 dates we set, they couldnt -didnt do it,despite big promises.....

THATS WHY WE STILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM....DYOR (do your own research)

    anyway here we go....

...one of the two little trucks....

    ...and the 2.truck....

    our guest room....

    ..our little boy room...

    ...stuff outside the upper rooms...

    ...and our sleeping room....

...the next day.....the finished product and me fixing up the sink and dishwasher....

.....so the next day about lunch.....they finished with the cabinets....

very professional approach, clean and great work.....extremely happy with SD Design square.....

The PD HOUSE woman came and wanted us to sign a paper that they give us the inside of the house.......well she came, saw and went very quite again......
the paper was fully added from my wife what was not finished inside.....despite the promise of the engineer from PD HOUSE once again..........
    he said sorry......

...we could see on her face that she didnt like it what she saw.......foreman said
    "not much left to do".....
yeah i heard that so many times........

if she probably knew that, she wouldnt came all the way from Korat......

    so here are the cabinets.....

    guest-room

    our boy room

    ..and our sleeping room....

...while the boys were finishing....i fixed up the sink and dishwahser which was a big f^*# up from the boys from Home Pro....lesson learned there.....

...i saw it when they started with the job.....my wife was there too...if i could have made it my way the boys would have been there not longer than 10 minutes......
    so unprofessional....

Hard to believe the building company doesn't have some decent plumbers available...........the leaking pipes you've shown us would be the basics of plumbing you would think.

Thanks for taking the time to post all the pictures.........there great.

..well things which is basic to us farangs, doesnt mean it is basic knowledge to Somchai

..yes i agree they should have contracted the whole plumbing out to another company.......as with the roof, steps, laminate and hot water system up in the roof...
im very happy with the work of the sub contractors.....not with PD HOUSE...

    ...no worries mate...choose a couple of pics....resize them(in windows with paint),load them up,easy done...

..some good news (for us)and some bad news(for PD)

...so finally, today a new foreman with 2 workers came and they started fixing the ceilings and walls which our foreman and his workers didnt see--or didnt want to see, despite we told them about a 1'000'000 times...

our regular foreman came back with 1 TA-trade assistant....2TA's then all up...

....over the weekend i checked the 2 septic tanks and the grey water system....
didnt have much to do at the moment....need stuff from Global/home pro....

what i found was that with the 2 septic tanks, they were installed differently...
so one of them was the wrong way around...and it was the bigger one ........

the pipes of the grey water,i found were full of dirt....even the pits....because i wanted them smoothed out on the ground.....which i did by myself....

...alright thats the 2200 L septic....

..almost in the ground ....which was last year around May or so...

i asked my wife 2days ago what it says on the pic and she said the writing says: OUT

..but this end looks to the house where the shit comes in......mmhh....looks as we had people there who could not read or had no idea of direction/clear work orders from the foreman.....btw...whats that?clear work orders???....not on this site.....

..and so it looks as not long ago.....

..the drawings shows it clearly too....i never necked it before....i thought they could manage that by them self........

maybe they looked just the drawings and it looks as it should go that way....depends on which side you stay......

..one of the grey water pits.....

which i dug out just the one pit.....

    ..which then looked like that....

...but still that much dirt/mud in the pipe.....
sent this pics to PD house via LINE today.....

and the finished product of one of the pits after cleaning just the pit out and a bit of cement down and make it nice that the water can flow out easy....

the foreman brought a pump with him today.....so he must got the message from his boss in Korat......

im just guessing....that he might got a pineapple....or two.....

This is a major reason why we chose an independent contractor. Other reasons were my FIL was on site 24/7 and my wife travelled from CNX to Fang almost every day. As we had renovated several condos in CNX she had confidence (I had cancer during the construction period.)
I am unsure whether PD does work here.
Q-Con educated our contractor re the intricacies of their product and after 2 years, we are the only individuals to use their product in Fang to date.
We sourced most other products including furniture in CNX & BKK.
We purchased the best quality products available & delivery times were reasonably good.

Two basic and learned principles that all should understand when pursuing projects of any stature.

1] Never involve Thai family/extended family in work or advisement.

2] Always be personally present during the project term.

I agree. FIL is a motor mechanic which in LOS means jack of all trades. He did no physical work nor did relatives.
The most impressive workers were the Burmese - diligent, efficient & spoke English.
FIL & wife were personally present in order to minimize pilferage.
Choosing our own products was personally gratifying versus choosing from a brochure.
As we purchased significant lots each time, discounts were substantial. Service was excellent (Global House & one other.)

Thanks for the info on the wire, in the US, Green = Ground, White = Neutral and everything else is hot. I guess the first time I touch the wrong wire it'll burn it into my memory

Like your bathroom, wife likes it too our plans for the main bath look about the same, the only thing is she don't like urinal, she don't want to sit on stool and look at it. so I'll have to live with just a urinal on my outside outhouse.

Is the water still hot in the morning? Here in the states we use pex plumbing for all our hot and cold water, easier than copper, all fittings are crimp connections. haven't had a leak yet if I remember to crimp everything

I'm assuming the septic tank that's the wrong way will have to be dug out and turned.
What a shitty job hope it wasn't used yet.

I seen in a earlier post that you said that you used 10cm block, I seen in a you tube video where on his build he used 15cm, anyone know the difference in price?

...most of the time ive been there too...every day when i was in the village..but im not a septic tank specialist....LOL...i saw it late...yes...but i thought they could manage that.....

i did mention any stuff who could be a f@#& up in the end before it happened...if i picked it up in time....im not perfect......

i dont have to dig it out and dont have to pay extras for it....

    PD is everywhere....in CNX too....

(hope you recovered from your cancer....)

we are the only one in the village who have Q-con.....

im happy with the stuff,so far, outside the normal contract...which we sourced and bought in BKK....

    .....and with the sub-contractors..

The insulating effects of Q-Con are terrific. We rarely use A/C & furthermore sound is reduced.
There was hesitation in our decision but in hindsight it was a game changer.
A similar logic applies to CPAC tiles, window tinting etc.
If $$$ is a big factor, I would downsize on area and some things delay installation.
