Very Nice. I like the eave netting. Really need that here in Thailand. Also the wood used to support heavy fans and lights in the ceiling. Best of luck with the Home.

on your post #150
I see your ground (green) and other wires but was wondering about your neutrals, we use whites didn't see them unless they're hiding inside the box.
...thanks....yeah it keeps all these little creatures out of the ceiling,roof-space.....i quite like this system.....
...you just have to check it that they have put the net in all places and no gaps are around....
...still a job to do for me and check proper.....a quick look and it was good......so far..
...but i dont trust the foreman......
Consider putting the fans on the walls rather than the ceilings.
i use BLACK as a neutral......here in Thailand......and some BLUE.....
its in the back of the box,a couple joined together....on pic 150
it could be a longer answer.....
when i started with the house here in LOS,the cables had GREY,BLACK and EARTH as a 1.5 or 2.5 mm2 cable...
...so i decided to go with black as a neutral.....like in Australia...
somehow last year you only could buy BROWN,BLUE and EARTH in Global.......
....same as a Neutral in Switzerland (Europe).....
...so i have a mix up of BLACK and BLUE as Neutral........
...i heard,saw a pic of different color codes around the world.....anyway white is an ACTIVE in my case......
AUSTRALIA:
red,white,blue=active
black=neutral
earth=green yellow
CH (Europe)now:
brown,black,grey=active
blue=neutral
earth=green yellow
CH until about 2003 or so:
black,red,white=active
blue=neutral
earth=green yellow
CH until about 30 years ago:
red,black,white=active
yellow=neutral
earth=green yellow
CH before: i run into a couple of things...which looked like:
red,dark blue and green=active
yellow=neutral
earth:wasnt there
i have seen so many different colors here in thailand,who knows really what they are.....GREEN should be earth.....
but dont take that for granted what SOMCHAI does in thailand....
so,yeah a lot of colors over those years and im color blind by the way....
does it help.......probably looks confusing to Somchai.......
...funny bloke.....putting ceiling fans with lights on the walls......
...havent heard of that before.....
...no offend mate,i know what you mean.....may will be an option if it gets to hot in the dunny...later...ceiling is not high enough for a fan...dunny room is only2.4m...
i have some support above the ceiling in all the rooms apart the dunny-rooms....
We did not consider it until the contractor recommended it.
An added bonus is that Thais have a fear of ceiling fans.
I won't comment re the light/fan combo.
Spot lighting was used throughout the house.
It has worked out extremely well.
We are near Isaan.
I note that you are using PD Constructions. I recommend that you use the largest Q-Con bricks - better insulation. Our contractor was timid so we used about 15". Go as high as the contractors permit.
We rarely used A/C.
My suggestion re dimensions of Q-Con are incorrect. Consult with the contractor/architect at PD or Q-Con.
Actually, the colour coding that Global was selling IS the Australian Standard.
Red (Active), Black (Neutral) hasn't been the standard for decades.
In Australia, electricity is supplied at 240V and 50Hz. The Active wire (high potential) is coloured brown (used to be red). The Neutral wire (low potential) is coloured blue (used to be black). The Earth wire is striped green and yellow (used to be only green).Jan 20, 2015
NEW ............................ OLDEasy to remember, brown is the active because you'll shite your self if you touch it ...
....had a very delicious korean BBQ and im ready for a shower,bit of reading and sleep...
will answer JL later,maybe .......or not....im almost done with the built...i have 10cm Qcon and i know that my wife doesnt like ceiling fans a lot....but its ok....she's been to AUS so its ok....we bought it together...........
i had a busy week here.....kitchen builder came,hot water-system up in the roof and the in built cabinets as well....so as some somchais from Homepro who put in the sink and dishwasher....(what a waste it was).....i pretty much changed-fixed up what they did....3 useless Somchais.....couldnt be any worse than that....
i only read about it........but its true....
later folks.....not enough time .......and i have a new camera too...the old one is fu$%#^.....have to get my head around.....
...and alot of stuff will come when i find some time....some more f&$# ups i found today.....it doesnt stop here.......
He is spot on the wall mounted fan and a resounding YES, Thais are afraid of the traditional Ceiling Fan.
My partner was clunked on the head when it fell from the ceiling in a Restaurant.
We also use spot down lights.

Why, pray tell, did you buy a 'Dishwasher'?
Are there 10 people in your house?
Expecting to have dinner parties?
I have a feeling that it maybe under utilised by the household ...

...thats really easy to remember......
....sorry to hear that...hope she is well now.....
it could happen to anyone who is under a ceiling fan....questionable installing methods here in LOS by some Somchais.....
....well you may know what woman want....so i didnt say no when she said she wants a dishwasher in the house....
she's been to too many places in CH where they all had dishwashers.....
no,im not planning to have that many kids mate.....
...yes we gonna have a lot of friends who gonna come over,once this built will be finished......
....and it could be a bit of an overkill.....but hey you want your wife to be happy...dont you??
Funny differences we all encounter here. My wife loves ceiling fans and hates dragging floor units all over the place and she said wall mounts look like restaurant furnishings and they are either pink. Tan or white.Originally Posted by David48atTD
We love our ceiling fans.
Wall fans - no problem in that regard.
...the toilet-shower look the same on the ground floor and 1.floor....the bathroom isnt done yet....the tiles are the same too....
all tiles are from SCG we have in our house (it seems PD has an agreement with SCG)
they installed all the stuff a bit more than a week ago....still water is leaking everywhere.....can fix it later.....was the answer......and they havent been here for a week.
they should be back tomorrow....will see.....
....i still havent found a decent wall light yet.....
the LED lights are "warm white" not daylight.....looks better....
the fan on the ceiling is a change from us.....in the contract was an ugly wall fan....who would suck the air out from the dunny.....
.....it leaks as well from the ceiling and from under the house.....
the foreman left before even checking all the stuff...to Korat....
he came back again a couple of hours later....
the pump didnt stop pumping.....it didnt turned off......yeah all the good stuff is happening....
so there was a leak under the house....they fixed it.......but there was still another problem......no water in the upper dunny.....a blocked conduit.......
they fixed it too.......
...and a dodgy P-trap....reused.....
water is running down from the service lid......
here we have found it.....
...a reused P-trap...
...no comment needed here.....
....more fixings on the next day....
...the new water feed for the upper dunny.....
..if you think it stops here.....you are wrong.....2days later when i checked the upper toilet-drains....more leakings.....
next to the P-trap they fixed......
....right next to the left of the P-trap......which was replaced with a new one....
....and it still looks the same as of today.....
...by the end of January,the kitchen and appliances from Home Pro came and they mounted some stuff up for a day.....the blokes from the kitchen-.....
the kitchen is from STARMARK....they have design-centers in every big Home Pro..
we had a look at KITZCHO too but we went for Starmark.....looks a bit more modern....our point of view
i made some kitchen plans up back in 2013...so we needed only minor changes....
final paintings in the kitchen area.....
the next day it looked like this....
...and the kitchen appliances...
