I installed those lights in my gaff in Perth.

Poxy little screws top and bottom hold the light to the base.

on the built,no one around, cleaned a lot of shit up....i dont count how many times i done this.....its not on their agenda......i think its never been...

    1. floor is complete finished....but wont turn power on until they're gone...1 powerpoint upstairs, downstairs and carpark is enough....bought some cheap ones for that reason.....

now back TO THE PAST again...end of April 2016

while the SCG roof crew had a very long safety meeting, couldnt resist to make a pic,our normal Somchai crew were doing some work too......
2 different worlds meeting here on the same place at the same time.....

man it was a long safety meeting....those safety guys dont get it...doesnt matter where you are........

    just outside and upstaires....

and a bit of brick laying on top..

yeah, ive seen it its not straight.....we can fix it later....waterlevel is not good...really?????go and buy a new one.......
ive seen the level today and it works fine for thais(got my own ones)

they gonna fix it later....im sick hearing that now....get allergic...if they say that...

some more conduit work upstairs.....bottom part...

and top part...dont get confused why yellow conduits....GLOBAL didnt have any white ones in store....no problem....same same, different colour.....

yeah, thanks Terry,im very happy with the external contractors who come(came)in under PD to do some special-specific work.....they contracted it out....they've done well...
happy they didnt bring in another local Somchai....

you know that, when you work-worked in construction....you see things if they have been done well.....or if the guy has two left hands....

    so good night,im off....
    until later....

The problem for us farang is that we are used to paying top dollar but in return we usually get first rate work that comes with a guarantee, that's in our country.

But in this shitter most of the Thais actually expect work to not be first class and will accept dodgy work in the main.

Hence the Turd that laid the dodgy tiles ya posted up before.

He recons that his shit work is good enough.

on this house,i think in general with PD,they give you some guarantee too...
15 years for the structure,3 years for the roof,3years for everything else....

well,we'll see once we gonna run into problems....

the turd who did the side steps was the foreman,he did a good job at the front entry, but hell knows why he did this crap first at the side and back step....he redid the steps and they line up now.....thats just him....you have to watch him when he does some work...

i think,if i told them while they were laying the bricks, they would looked at me as i would come from another planet.....another continent is enough.....and i had bigger problems back then,,to look that the walls are there where they should go,according to my plans.....and put my conduits in....no time for daydreaming

me and my wife are still working upstairs on our conduits......

some started already with the frames on the doors and windows...

this one are for the corners, around doors and windows.....
the foreman asked me if i want them....i said a clear YES.....otherwise who would know how straight the corners would be....its still questionable....anyway.....

    Some plumbing pictures

there are some random pictures which some had to be modified, redone because it was simply not right.....
my knowledge is not very great but i know that there has to be roughly a minimum slope of 3mm for 30cm-quarter inch per foot.....if im not wrong......

i had to tell the foreman too to get some U-Traps....i think he would have done everything without(money in his pocket)

if you wanna know more about plumbing, please go to some other theard which goes specific into it......

i think that ive done as much damage control as i could at this stage......

    more later.........

p-trap wrong way around and wrong T-piece...

right T-piece but wrong way around.....

    inside......and outside......

you clearly can see the slope here....i dont know how many times i had to tell them....

    ..in the big bathroom...

    22.5.16

    things go along nicely.....
us finishing off up in the 1.floor....

and doing the "Main switch" for the aircons....

single switch up to 20A by Haeco

all the plumbing is now hidden....

the shit tanks are sort of in the ground.....

the plaster boards-or gyprock they say here, for the ceiling is sitting in the living room....

the scaffold is arriving too...some more bricks came too.....plenty of work...

around 23.5.16 and changes to the contract(Materials)

they have done the scaffold, and starting outside with some work too.....

we went to Korat PD office at the 23.5.16 to choose the tiles,Laminate and made some more changes which affected the finish time for the house.

i completely forgot to tell that we made the first change early 2016,because i was not happy with the small doors for my electrical in the original plans.

the 2.change was at the 18.3.16.....before the roof came....in the contract they have 3 inch roof insulation.....i wanted 6 inch roof insulation on the ceilings....
plenty of time for them to change it without any hassle.....well....

it ended, that we had to go to homepro and buy the 6 inch insulation...after several phone calls........

they gonna pay us back, take it off from our last payment.

so while we were in the office,i asked what kind of toilet fans they put in.....
showed us these ugly ones for the walls, with shudders on the outside.....
on heavy rain, its gonna rain in and big bugs can walk in as they want......changed to a ceiling fan with duct to the outside.....

and some paint for the interior i changed too, from "Supershield Duraclean" to a"A+"

a change in the original contract means they get 1 month more finishing time before penalties for them apply(500Bht a day)for each change...

so with us there are 3 months on top off the original timeframe....which is due at the end of february 2017......its gonna be May 2017

    .....its not gonna happen anyway......

    some small stuff......

..fair a bit to fill up here....thanks that i dont have to pay for extra rendering materials.....

a look up into the ceiling.....

im finished up there, put my conduits in,no junction boxes anywhere......one final thing to do.....earthing of the roof construction.....16mm2 to a big beam...its all interconnected anyway.....and bring it down to the sub board 1.floor.......

Painting my electrical cabinets and conduit trimming

between the 26.5. and 28.5.16 i painted the inside of my electrical cabinets.....it would take ages until they would start painting.....i want it ready for mounting my stuff up.....get ahead off the game...less work later....whats done is done.....

    before the "haircut"

    after the haircut.......

and on top from the ground floor...the same look.....

and the exactly same thing i did on the 1.floor......

    6 inch roof insulation ...

What about some reflective insulation under the tiles, vent the roof space and go with the suggested 3 inch insulation.

    IMHO ... far more effective.

Vent the roof space is cheap and easy to do ... I don't see any on your roof profile.

Roof Sarking as a heat reflective foil barrier is a great preventative measure.

    Is there any eves venting?

If you are having a gyprock/drywall ceiling (as opposed to a suspended tile ceiling), any roof leaks puddle in the ceiling and the more insulation you have, the more sponge you have. The ceiling eventually sags and, in extreme cases actually drops.

How you have done it seems more like a house designed to insulate against cold weather, rather then hot weather.

    IMHO

Have enjoyed the effort to show us the house build and it does look good ... well done.

Back to present again...31.12.16 (sort of,last year anyway)

i wanted to finish on the ground floor with the powerpoints and switches.....which i nearly did yesterday...

we gonna go to the big smoke again tomorrow to catch up with good friends from CH...we wont be around here until almost by end of January....and will enjoy some time at the beach on the island of Ko Samet.......

until then the paintings inside should be finished.....we get the kitchen by end of January, plus the inbuilt cabinets for our sleeping room too.....we wont change dates again......

it will be a bit of surprise.....how they done it,if they do.....they know what we want...
    let you guys know then.......

i needed to change a one way switch to a two way.....easy iv done it by myself with a good old fashioned brand mark.......its been over 10m.the run.......

need to run 2 more wire from here..next to kitchen to.....the entry.....

with the help of this nylon snake......and......

this stuff here....too easy...with no power effort i can pull them in......

    and thats the end product......
