Thread: Epoxy glue

This was on another forum but I thought I'd share. I use a lot of glue due to my kids breaking everything. In the past I've used the expensive tubes of Epoxy and ran out of them quickly. The Epoxy I bought, after a tip on TV forum, was the one below. It comes in two 500g tubs. Cost from builders supplies was about 240 Baht.
I use tooth picks to mix equal parts of each and Bobs yer uncle. Full curing time is 72 hours on the instructions, but if not under any stress it can be usable before. Great value compared to the 30g tubes. If you want the clear epoxy make sure it's printed on the tub. Otherwise I think it comes in other shades.

Years ago, we did tests on many different materials, using 2 part epoxy,the conclusion was it is very unreliable or did not work at all. Since then we never use, what was in the work shop went into the rubbish bin. I believe there are much better products out there that will not fail you as this product will

I use Superglue for everything. Just don't glue your fingers together using it.

It does for me on a household level and hasn't failed. But if there is better Mozzbie47 then what do you recommend?

if you really need to go the full industrial then belzona is what is used to patch metal under extreme conditions

Hard question to answer mate, its like how long is a bit of string. Loctite make excellent products, more often than not we use Silicon V60, with no fails. I stick to what i said tho, dont like epoxy, dont use epoxy.

It all depends what it is for.

Superglue is fine if the surfaces to be bonded are a very exact match, otherwise it's crap.
Clear Epoxy is great for invisible stone & wood repairs and for patching surfaces with fiberglass etc.
