Thai beach bungalow DIY replica in the U.K..

Built this Thai beach bungalow similar to the one i stayed in on Samui 13 years ago.

It was 100 baht a night back then.

It's used as a general storage come summerhouse/kids play house.

Tools/ingredients - one wonky spirit level

    - big bag of nails

    - claw hammer

    - wood saw

    - 5 lts of wood stain

    - 3 rolls of 5m felt

    - bag of cement for the stilts foundations

    - pile of timber from the local DIY superstore

    -4 x sheets of perspex(child friendly windows)

    - one lock and latch to keep the terrors in

    - one packet of plasters and packet of paracetamol

Hey presto, we now have a reminder of our beach holidays in Thailand..

I think the local pigeons will soon be staking a claim to it.

    Nice job.
Did you receive a zoning / building permit prior to construction ?

No permission needed as it's just under 3 metres high.

All it needs now is a fan, mossie net and mattress

Had to opt for the roof felt instead of bamboo due to the English winter.
However, i might put some on top for show.

    Make it look more realistic!

Well spotted Dapper, that chimney needs to go...not Thai stylee.

It's just a bit a fun for the garden and a totally impractical waste of money and time, but fook it.

Perhaps that fireplace thing should be in the center of it . Pipe it out the roof and you have a four seasons resort. Snow shoes, bear skin rug, dribble a little water on the lava rocks and its a steam room.
For all we know it opens up to a cold war bunker complete with wine gallerie and hot toddies sporting the latest in under earth wear.
Dooms day prepers home sweet home.
I would call it " Da Bunker".

Gave the bungalow a makeover today, constructed a crazy paving patio in the evening suntrap at the side.

Just need a spot of rain to seal the deal now.

Planted a wall of bamboo around the perimeter to give it an authentic Asian vibe
