    Chugging Pump

I've got a Mitsubishi water pump that I have had about a year. It has stopped running smoothly and is now chugging. Something is causing it to stop and start constantly when running. The water is still running but the flow is not smooth.
Anybody know what is going wrong or how to fix it?

Is there a air tank. if so the air pressure mite be low.
Also could have a hole in the blader.

It stops and starts even if you run say an outside hose. Try turning on as many taps as you can and see if it still does it? Could be the pressure switch.

    But first.

To the best of my knowledge if it is a std. yellow tank with a pump on the top there is no "bladder" the tank simply has an air space. Unplug the pump, turn the water supply off, undo the drain plug and empty the tank. replace the drain plug and start again. Why? because water is not compressible, so if the air has gone there is no delay in the on/off action. Problem then becomes where did the air go?

If you live anywhere near Klong Toey you can buy any parts you may need. That is just where I go. New tank is about 1800 baht etc..
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

^I'll try to drain the reservoir. Thanks for the help. I live in the backwoods of Surin so I'll have to look for the parts around here is the pressure switch needs replacing.
    Thanks for your help!

Good. If it lasts another year OK. If not, when the pump is running squirt a mixture of washing up detergent and water around all the pump connections on the top of the tank see if you can make any bubbles. That will be where the air is leaking out.

The best time to go searching for stuff is when you DON"T need it.
