^ Move the decimal point one place to the left maybe. And I'd still hesitate to buy a bunch of containers for 1.8m.

    Hello biff .

I've seen some fabulous container conversions . Some are on here . Like these .........

But I don't think these other ones count as fabulous .

    And so pricey !!!!!

    Thanks Wasp..looks good..
    2x 40 foot containers ..about $6000..maybe a 20 foot as well..$2000
I like the way they put the windows in the end..where to doors usually are..
Thirty or so stumps for footings..
Pick it up if you want to move..better if you had insulated high top containers..

Hey Waspy, I agree not of activity in the build section. I do not think its because folks aren't doing it, it just that TD has slowed way way down in its activity.

Our house will be done with the house blessing in a few weeks.

Hopefully some new posters join and will carry on. I sure enjoy them and enjoyed helping many along the way.

Sadly this is not a house build story .....just a solid little house from Chico's thread .

I'd like to add my thanks to Waspy for taking the time to create this great thread. I am still in the earliest 'thinking about it' phase and found much here and elsewhere on TD to inform my thoughts. Enjoyable and interesting thread, thanks.

This has been a most interesting thread which both my wife & I have enjoyed. We have garnered some ideas for our home to be built in Isaan hopefully later this year. Thank you for your continuing efforts.

    Unhappy

Well ................ this was a fairly popular Thread and I know from the Count that people were still wandering through the Thread looking for ideas or admiring some of the constructions .

Today I saw a Thread from Norton so I went to my own
" Gallery of House Builds " to see if I already had Norton's house .

And I find I have no photos at all on the Thread !!!!!

A small search and I find this message ...............

Photobucket is cracking down on people embedding on third-party websites images it hosts, until now, for free.

The photo-slinging internet elder now says that anyone who wants to use its service to display photos it hosts on other pages – such as signature banners in forum posts – will now need to open up their wallets and plop down $399.99 a year for a subscription plan.

The new policy will be particularly annoying to longtime users who have relied on Photobucket's 14-year-old service to host the images they use to place images on forums or in blog posts.

Cheaper plans, including the free account option, will no longer have an option to allow third-party hosting.

SO ....... Photobucket also automatically put labels all through my thread to aver to the new situation .

Obviously I'm not about to spend $400 a year to have photos here ............... so with regret that seems to end this Thread .

    Regards to all ............

    Wsp

Unless the pics were backed up on the TD gallery then there's not a lot anyone can do.
It's a shitty thing that photobucket have done .
Loads of threads on this forum have been wrecked.

I had no idea about this , David . It was only a few days ago apparently .

    I just had a look at my other large Thread " Not a House-Building Thread " .
All the photos are gone !!!

What utter bastards !! They could have said -- SHOULD have said ..... " From July 1st ... ".

Doubtless there are other websites that will do the job but is it worth the effort ?
95% of the people who were interested in this Thread will have already seen it - ages ago.

    It's a surprise - and not a nice one.

    Wsp

Just seen your comment Chitty . I was so surprised by my own absence of pictures that I didn't realise it is everyone .
Because I was looking at Norton's pictures . Presumably Norton uses a different photo site.

It's the same with FB, after a while the pics vanish.
Something the owner needs to address.

    Sorry , Latindancer .
I might try to retrieve them from FknFotobukkett and post them as one long display without all the witty interjections .

I have advised here few times an easy web for pictures 666kB.com for pictures less than 666 kB.

"Choose file" from your computer, then click on:
    "Speichern" (Save)

    Another box appears:

Under the BBCode the link to mark up by CTRL-A (will turn on blue) and copy by CTRL-C (no need to care about the other links)

Then paste it in the post by CTRL-V

    So easy...

I got an email stating the same BS so I went and dumped the pics and my account.

I have never used TD gallery and will not.

    So it goes.

Thanks for the effort Waspy. it was a good thread and assisted a few in their house builds

Yeah but something for the forum like this thread would have been a perfect reason to use the TD gallery. Not at all hard or anything.

You should make a new one wasp. Using the gallery. If you're up for it.

Slick , I've never even looked in the TD Gallery . I have a feeling that people quite liked them being here .

They look in the Constructions .
There's Waspy's Constructions back at the top .
" GOOD ! There must be another completed house to look at !! "

It takes more effort to wander over to the Gallery .

But I have not abandoned this just yet.

    ............ and thank you JP.
