    Toilet Plumbing Question

    Hi everyone,

I have a question about plumbing for my toilet. My wife asked the builder to center the toilet in the bathroom between the wall and the vanity. Unfortunately they had already poured the cement floor, with the blue pipe in place. Rather than rip out the floor and re-place the pipe, they added an s-curved, pvc pipe from where it was located to move it the 15 centimetres where she wanted it.

Now I'm worried that it will clog very easily whenever it is flushed. Waste must almost immediately go through the s-curve, before it can fall through the pipe in the floor and to the septic tank. The builder says it's fine, I'm skeptical. I'm happy to make him move it, but wanted to ask the forum in case he actually is right and I'm way off.

Sorry, we didn't get any pictures of it.

    Thanks.

Seeing as it's fvcked already anyway - see if it works first before ripping it up and starting again. Sometimes Buddha shines on us

I can't answer your question but would like to ask one of my own: don't they install vent pipes from the toilet venting to the roof?

If you leave it as it is, it would be wise to hang a log splitter by the pan ( with instructions in English and Thai ) on how to use it.

I wouldn't fancy your chances of transporting a week old baker around those bends.

    Best sort it now mate.

Typical Thai rigging seen in the Thai mind as skilled craftsmanship. I would not have a Thai build a house of crackers for me...which would probably more structurally sound than most Thai houses and building propped up around this place.

"Rather than rip out the floor and re-place the pipe" -translates to too lazy..too inept...and easier to rig it than do it right. Nothing more than a Thai passing off crap work as normalcy in Never Never land and refusing to do the right thing as a business owner.

so... is the jog in an open accessible area or ? Don't see a problem anyways...after all the bottom end of the pipe has an elbow to the septic tank I expect ? If your worried have 'em put a clean out "y" at the lower bend.

This is the best idea...what have you got to lose by trying it. Especially since right after the two 45degree bends ( It`s not a 45 and a 135 as someone put) is more than likely a 90 degree bend or two. ( go to the hardware store and ask for a 270 degree bend for a pipe and take a photo as they look at you like your retarded)

    At the hardware store:
    storeman:- sawadee sir
sir:- i want a 135 degree bend for my blue waterpipe.

storeman:- can`t seem to find any......and we always get em fresh on mondays. you could wait until next monday ..or i could give you three 45 degree bends. that totals 135 degrees, right?
sir:- yeah, that sounds good...better give me four, in case i fuck it up.

Here in the US they have Offset toilet adapters which are in essence an S-curve,
(do a search on google and choose images to see some of them.)
    and they work fine
I have used them once to move a toilet away from a wall and it worked well, so I don't see why you would have a problem with the rig , your plumber made.
Anyway give it a chance and see how it works. I dont think you will have a problem.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

They are both 135 degree angles, should be OK. Its 45 degree angles that you really have to worry about. Just see how it goes, so to speak but I wouldnt tile the floor to that area for a few months just in case you have to rip it up.
Does the line have an IO so you can clear it easily? And buy a basin spanner!
