Transformer pricing ?

Greetings. i have a friend who is looking to start a building project but is getting some wild costings for the 315 KVA transformer, the price for the 25mm four core three phase cable and the 30 amp meters. Anyone out there got any roundabout figures he can throw back at the builder ?

I just purchased a transformer from them good for a 9.5 amp load (in-rush) which works out to roughly 2.10 kva single phase - if I did my sums correctly.

It cost 2,500.00 THB

BM, I have just called them and the biggest transformer they supply is just one hundred KVA and costs just over eighty grand so don't know where you are getting your final figure from mate ?

Well, a 350 KVA Transformer will be some huge monster with a lot of copper in it. To my knowledge, only folks like EGAT have something that size.

That would be Indian Rupees

Given the consistency of the power supply here in India you may be better off looking elsewhere for a quality transformer.

Backup generators though - India's your place

For a transformer of that rating you will probably need to buy it directly from the leccy company and it won't be cheap! I can't remember the exact details, but I had to pay 600,000 baht for a 300KVA transformer for a hotel project some 8 years ago. So you might be looking towards 1 million baht - they are damn expensive.....

For the 3-phase cable, I can't help with costs, but 10mm core NTT copper cable is typically 50 baht per metre in my neck of the woods.

For the three-phase meter, it's around 30,000 baht. But you will also need to add in the cost of the breakers/switchboard, voltmeters. ammeters etc.

Lost me on th KVA etc, but we paid 300,000 Baht for a 32 KW transfomer, smaller than a 100 liter drum.
Being an industrial development area, power company ran the cable 12 KM for free.

Maybe see them, don't know if that helps or not. Jim
