good tip maybe...but why is the latex paint on our house walls is peeling off in places..lol
Use latex glue mixed with gypsum to repair a small crack in a retaining wall render..worked good.
Had the same sagging shuttering problem on our original cantilevered veranda....the builders took a week with hammer and chisels removing it before replacing. Had another builder come along and put in supporting poles on huge footings as it was about 300ml thick and thought the 11mx 2m veranda would pull the fricking house down. Also one of our main concrete upper story floor beams had a big belly..disappeared after rendering.
Back to the pool....think I would do good patch job and hope..all that expensive Sika' in succeeding coats and tile will probably take care of any leaks methinks...be piss off if there was a leak someplace else though...lol
..hopefully installed a good hydrostatic valve.... wouldn't want the pool to float away when that water table rises.
good luck.
I'm pretty confident there are no leaks. We did a test fill and bucket test before tiling and it didn't loose any water. Also now the rainy season is here it keeps filling up, then we have to pump it out again as we don't want to start a mosquito farm before we come back from Europe and fill it up deliberately.
just had a brain fart:
our exposed aggregate free form pool in Cairns had a nice shelf /seating area for entry and egress....maybe build same over problem area and eliminate expensive SS steps ta-boot?
About the pool, what a fantastic result, you would never know it was the disaster to start with.
I am sure the mentioned latex stuff is what we call Bondcrete in Ozz.
Years ago an old builder cousin of mine said, if you brush it onto the concrete surface you are to cover, then apply the new layer of concrete over it, even if it's a feathered thin layer, you will never get it off.
I am going to use it on the inside of a large concrete mix pot that wont hold water, I am sure it will work a treat.
