Thread: Test message

This is a test message...if it works I'll be back in a few minutes to tell what I did.

Well it seems to have worked. Here's what happened.
For two days I've been unable to post a message on TD. I was able to sign in, read messages, and type replies....but when I tried to post my reply I got an error message saying, "Your message must contain more than 5 characters" and a blank screen. What I tried to post was not being posted. I came back to verify this, and I saw that my messages were in fact not posted.
After two days of work I have finally traced the problem to a recent upgrade from MicroSoft....which I get automatically from MicroSoft...which I allowed to be installed on 6 April. It is a supposed to be an upgrade for MicroSoft Explorer 9. It is not a virus or Malware, it is really from MicroSoft.
The problem is that it appears to be incompatible with some chat forums using older software...and apparently TD is one of them.
Now I'm not a MicroSoft basher...I run Windows Vista and windows Exlorer as my browser. So I have no particular dislike for MicroSoft.
This is just a warning to all...be very careful with that 6 April update to Exlplorer 9. It may just be the particular mix of software I run and/or the fact that I come in through a wireless link with my family's "home" computer....but now that I have uninstalled that MicroSoft Explorer 9 upgrade i am now able to actually post a message on TD, log out and log back in and see my message. I haven't been able to do that for two days.
At the same time I lost the ability to post those "smileys"....like this one

in my posts.
Not sure if anyone else had problems....but once I uninstalled that last MicroSoft Explorer 9 upgrade I am back to being able to post on TD again.

Just a word to the wise...if anyone else is having problems...see if you have that 6 April Explorer upgrade installed. Uninstal it and see what happens. It worked for me.
Typos and misspelling are not the fault of microSoft....just my fumble fingers.
