Sorry fellows, but I,m busy playing with the iMac, nothing has blown up everything is just great.
The thing is that there is a lot of programs I needed to install, Skype, Google earth, messenger, Firefox, all for Mac of-cause, setting up e-mail, printers, mobile ect. and learning on the way since this is my first Mac.
Running into small problems is part of the joy, I normally listen to Danish radio on the net, but that is made for Win. Media player only, so while fiddling with trying to find a solution I got to see that Denmark's radio and tv do podcasting, something I have never tried to use before, so lots of great tv programs and radio was downloaded and time spent in the night looking at some stuff I used to enjoy back home.
I am also working with safari getting organized with my favorites, I sure there is a smarter way but in the process I get to know my way around the Mac, and I am having a great time.
It is by far the fastest computer I have ever owned, it,s like going from a good sturdy Golf to a Audi R8 super-car.
One thing, the Magic mouse although very slick in it,s functions and use, seems to me to be to slow even on the fastest setting on this big screen, it is hard to reach from up to all way down and the other way round, without having to move the whole arm, it is not enough with just a hand/wrist movement.
The screen was so bright in standart setting, that I had to take it down to 60% or so, and yet as PAG mention something about, the iMac do get very hot on the top part of the chassis, almost to the limit of tuch even with ceiling fan creating good circulation and AC running much of the day.
So what is SMC fan control? where do I find it?, I have to say the iMac is so quiet that I just cant hear it running at all, only the DVD drive you can hear but that is also a very subdued noise.
So guy's if I'm not online on TD it is because I'm so busy having fun, and I suspect that will go on for some days yet :)
So is the iMac worth it? Or should I just plump for the iPad? Or get both. Plus add in an iPhone and be a complete Mactard. :)
Yeah, get all 3..you know it makes sense :)
It's a small free utility that allows you to manually control the speeds that the cooling fans run at, you can set the default speed a little higher than the iMac will do to keep things cooler and also it allows you to switch to higher speeds if you are doing something that starts to heat the computer up. Very handy.Quote:

and it will only get worse from here, believe me. You are only excited because it's a new toy, eventually the novelty wears off and everything becomes annoying, unless of course all you do is jerk off to porn or read apple news blogs :mid:Quote:

FStream is the ideal tool to enjoy them as it focuses on playing and recording radio streams. Offering a discreet and functional interface, unobtrusive FStream can play any online radio station without ever interfering with your other applications. The program uses up very little memory and can be switched on or off very quickly as it simply uses internal QuickTime plugins to play streams. Both the player and recorder functions are very easy to use

even according to our resident iTard, slack, the magic mouse has quite a few issue I was told and break down quite often and are difficult to replace. They are also not easy to use, no matter how many apple ads you watch telling you otherwise :)Quote:

If you already have Bookmarks on another computer, download Xmarks (from xmarks.com).
You can sync bookmarks across any computers you use, and it works on Firefox, IE, Safari and Chrome.
Saves a shyteload of time.
*sigh*Quote:

I wasn't a great fan of the last generation of Apple mouse, but that was mainly if I was doing graphic work I found that the little ball would clog up occasionally. It would have been nice if it was easier to remove the ball and clean the sensors but it wasn't a huge deal, it's easy to plug any mouse into a Mac and it'll work. The one I had that died on me was replaced under warranty without hassles.
The latest Magic Mouse with a smooth multi-touch surface is f*cking brilliant imho, it took a little bit of getting used to but now a regular mouse feels like an antique compared to this.
Get back to us when you buy something similar, otherwise stop posting rubbish and let larvidchr get along with his new machine.
/I still like Slackware better than OS X under the hood, but for day-to-day stuff or even servers anything is better than the outdated bullshiat attempts at making an OS that you windows fanbois are promoting. Have you cleaned out your registry lately?
I have WinXP running since 2001 without flaws, or virusQuote:

Let's cut the BS, macos is unreliable and doesn't work over the long run unless you constantly upgrade. For those of us who do actual work, we love stability and the idea not to re-install every application everytime a service pack is released.
awesome, been looking for a nice one for quite a whileQuote:

You are a liar and a cnut. I've upgraded both my iMac and my Mac Book Pro from Leopard to SL without re-installing a single software, nor having to reconfigure anything.Quote:

One more time, speaking about what you don't know.
Now Nutterfly is showing another aspect of his addiction to the net and his stupidity.

I had the surprise to see a nice comment on my Skitch personal page. I thought even kids 4 years old would post on this board so everybody could read the comment.
Notice the lack of argumentation, just the usual BF rant against people who use a different OS. Useless.
