    Hiding files in .jpg

Here's a novel way of hiding stuff on your pc or if your emailing it out and want to make it a bit more secure, ie for passwords or stuff, you can hide any compressable file this way, ie .jpg .txt .avi .mp3, probably anything.

So first off lets goto My Computer, double click C drive and create our Top Secret folder, you can call it anything you like as "Top Secret" is probably not the best thing to name something you want to keep secret, maybe "Aunty Agnes's 88th birthday party bash" would be better.

Now you need your .jpg that is going to be the front for your secret stuff, plus it's time to go through your pc and find all those dirty movies and all the other nasty stuff that you wouldn't want Aunt Agnes seeing, thats right, even your Asian lesbian movie clips, chuck all them in your "Top Secret" folder.

Now Ctrl and left click everything you want to hide, right click and compress to rar or winzip so it's all in one nice little box so to speak, this file and the photo your going to bind or hide the stuff in has to be named without spaces, ie "naughty secret" wont work but "naughtysecret" will work, cmd don't like spaces in file names that it is working with.

So what I want to do now is hide the "topsecret.rar" file in my "normalpic.jpg" file.

Next is the fun bit, click "Start" "Run" type in "cmd", click "OK" and we are in command prompt, type in "cd\" enter and then type in "cd top secret", enter, now type "copy /b normalpic.jpg+topsecret.rar" and hit enter and thats it, you now got those files hidden in a working viewable jpg, albeit rather a large file sized .jpg

Nearly forgot, if you want to access your porn stash first go and get your tissues, now rename the file to "normalpic.rar" from "normalpic.jpg" and just unzip it, the .rar that is.

That "normalpic.jpg" started as a 50kb picture and is now 14mb.

PS, the reason why my sordid sex life diary is so short is I just started it this evening

If your using the same folder each time and want to do it quick just shorten the file names, 1.jpg+1.rar, real quick then.

Clever but a bit complicated. Think I'll stick with PGP encryption.

You seem to be doing a lot of these 'hacks' lately, I'm hoping soon you'll do a thread how to hack the Inland Revenue and delete my tax records..

DD, are you saying that the file will (if double clicked) simply open the .JPG? with no reference to the RAR file?

If so, that is pretty good - You should have made that available to "SWIRL" would have saved him a few years.

I didn't know you could do that - what I did was burned everything to cheapo CD/DVD ROMS, and with a big felt pen wrote on each one "COMPLETE SYSTEM BACKUP DISK 1........Etc. etc, I know it was a bit lame, but it was the best I could think of then.

Yes the file opens as the .jpg you chose, to open the rar file you need to put the .rar extension on the end of the file name and then you can unzip it.

Next lesson will be sticking a .php script into a .jpg and explaining the dangers of allowing attachments on forums

    That's pretty damn clever!

I await with interest - however, I have no idea what a PHP script is... (is it something like a protected version of JAVA?) but this stuff is fascinating, I was born 20 years to early!

What I am trying to find out, is how to set up a very basic web page, just something to mess around with, I don't really want to buy domains and shit like that at the moment, but if I can get to understand it, then that will be the next step.

All I really want is to be able to set up a page on the internet where I basically stream a webcam and audio - no I don't plan sitting with a bag over my head sucking my own dick.

It's simply to try and understand how to do it (not sucking - webcams/ websites)

I have registered a host using the no-ip.biz site, but this seems to do nothing, i am confused as to whether I need to have the web page on my machine, or on the internet, as I don't see a way of uploading a web page to a host, unless i actually buy a domain!!!

Some articles suggest creating the website in a directory on the C drive, like "WEB_ROOT", I plan to use Adobe Go Live (once I understand what to do) but just to get started, I wanted to set the webcam up broadcasting using Windows Media Encoder, then be able to check/access the site to see the video using my main computer and also the PSP 3000 over wireless...any pointers...appreciated!

A bit like setting up a security camera that can be viewed on the internet, but not a software "package" I want something to expand on later.

I had one of those BBC computers, i think it cost about 200 quid, I got it when I was 21 - a birthday present, a long time ago.

Thay must have been around the time that C and C+ and was it VOBAL languages came about?

Years later, I was introduced to HP Basic, running on HP Vectras, as instrument controllers, amazing at the time 20 grand for a 286, with 640 K Ram and a 20MB hard drive, and those HUGE slots for the HP processor card, forget the name, they were the pre runner of PCI, about a foot long.

HPVEE was the last stuff I ever used, but it never involved websites or any of that, this is all new to me.

You can do it with other files too - binding to a xls or something else mightn't look as 'supicious' as a 14MB jpeg!!

All this reminds me of the James Bond movie, "You only live twice" and the microdot on the SPECTRE photo.
