    R' U happy with your fone ?

I was, but it fell down, screen broken, touchscreen out of order...

    Need a new one !

Even it will last less then a year as usual, i'm ready to give a 20 K if it's cool and usefull...

Should link to outlook for adress...

Last one had wi-fi and Gprs, usefull some times, think i need that...

Camera of good resolution is a plus

GPS, well, probably buy a separate one to be fix in the car, but it can be a cool option to...

I am not particularly fund of Nokia, but the one Wayne Kerr has seems quite nice...

The Kintosh thingy is still overpriced, my budget is 20k max...

Suggestion, or good comment about the machine you got ?

( bad comments welcome too )

Samsung seems to have extra flat and performant ones...

As much as it pains me to say it, the Apple iPhone is actually quite cool.

My phone died a little while ago (lasted longer than normal) so today i went and got myself a new toy, there are a lot of applications and software clever stuff for it (most of it'll be lost on me)

    Sony Ericsson - Mobile phones - Overview - W960i

Don't know what it'll cost though?
Well, luckily I didn't have any tortoises on me at the time...

    Nokia 6500 Classic.

Nice and slim, 1GB internal memory, 2mp camera, large screen, good reception. Nothing fancy, it just does its job. I`m quite pleased with it.

^^ 400 Uk Pounds for this 8GB Walkmann, tv... Nice piece of technology...

Not to much into music, would prefer to get a fone with easy alphabet keypad to sms and other such, what the ^ does not have but seems to be a good choice for simple use and piccies...

Just hope my fone does not turn off yet, i could not reboot it, touchscreen being broken, cannot calibrate at start and would remains useless, that happen after a fligth turn on once, be abroad and no more numbers and stuff... ( all remains in PC from synchro, still )...

Got a Nokia N90 a few years back in Thailand.

Few problems initillay and got it replaced under warranty.

It's quite a big, heavy phone which I actually like because you know whether you have it or not coz it's heavy and hard to miss unlike small phones which can be hard to feel in your pocket.

Has everything except vibrate function which isn't a big issue.

Folds out like a small video camera - very cool design

    Nokia N95-cheap version

My O2 finally gave up !

Just purchased a Nokia N95, that machine is normally 20K +, but my lady made a trip to Laos and purchased probably a chines copy, this for only 3650 Thb.

Same look, all same buttons, but no CD software.

Music plays well, one 250 MB card included, charger, earphone, usb connection cable included, and spare battery.

    GPS seems missing

A bit ligth, will go to a shop, get the soft and test and compare...

I hope i can get my adresses and numbers from outlook transferred to it, this was great with pocket PC windows...

    Function review of gadgy gadgets...

update Will Apple's iPhone reshape the mobile phone market? Are there better devices actually available already? We put the iPhone head-to-head with its competition to see how it stacks up.
Gadget aficionados will no doubt have heard that Apple is launching the iPhone, its first mobile phone, in the US on 29 June. Here in Australia, though, we'll have to wait until next year to get our grubby mitts on the sleek multimedia device. Apple recently published information comparing its hot little handset with the already available Nokia N95, Samsung BlackJack, Palm Treo 750 and the Blackberry Curve 8300.
Apple also recently upped the stated battery life of the iPhone from five to eight hours of talk time, 250 hours of standby, five hours of Internet browsing, seven hours of video playback and 24 hours of audio playback -- 10 hours longer than Apple's hard-disk based iPods.

But why is the iPhone generating so much hype? It's just a phone after all, isn't it? While it does have an elegant design and attractive interface, what could be in this device that's revolutionary? We compare it side-by-side with the N95, the top-of-the line handset from the world's No. 1 phone maker, at the moment, Nokia. We've also colour coded our table to indicate in green which device's feature, in our opinion, comes out on top. Apple iPhone

HTC touch Dual suits me. Windows Mobile 6 Professional, touchflo system to show MS how to steal a better interface from Apple (I thought they had already learned that). I have an English/Thai dictionary, Tomtom Navigator, goes well with bluetooth stereo headphones for music. Look HERE for more info.

Good luck with your Laos phone! Let us know how it goes (or stops). Vey cheap, my mrs has been talking about selling Lao phones, her friend goes and buys bulk. Too good to be true?

I bought my Samsung E900 in Singapore cheap, it was an out going model. Nice phone but the screen has a white line across it now, maybe after dropping it. Can this be fixed cheaply? I guess the screen will have to be replaced...

The new Samsungs look good, very slim and good cameras, 3mp.

Fake seems not to be easiest or cheapest way...

2 days with the machine no number stored yet !

The soft ask for the dongle, purchased cd with cracks...after many troubles, seems that i have to buy a bluetooth usb adapter to connect to PC...

Probably will just buy a real fone and forget about that copy crap, switching off by itself some times...

    That blackberry seems ok...

The HTC has no dealer in Thailand...Not common, problems ahead with this...

I had a O2 before, travel quite often and tend to forget charger, spend quite some amount on taxi around the world for locating a supplier of specific charger...So most prolly go for something found everywhere...

Th ABC touches on O2 were nice to write SMS, do not like the idea of taping 3 times one A to get a C !

Touchscreen is great, but glass breaks ! that's what kiled my O2 for second time.

The iPhone has a glass screen, danger...

So looks like a have to go shopping again today...

    The actual 10 with Qwerty...

If you're a road warrior who sends and receives plenty of e-mail, then these mobiles with full keyboards will make your life much easier.

You want a PDA-phone but you don't fancy writing long SMS messages or dialling (and leaving fingerprints) on the handheld's touch screen. A stylus can be awkward on a bumpy road, but with an onboard QWERTY keyboards it's easy to bang out e-mails when you're on-the-go. Most give you the option of inputting text by either writing or typing. The best part is these handhelds are only slightly bigger than standard PDAs, so they can slip into your jacket pocket. You can expect to pay a slight premium on some models, but if a keyboard's what you need, these ten handhelds are definitely worth considering. Editors’ rating: 8.3

    BlackBerry Curve 8300

The BlackBerry Curve takes both good and bad factors from the Pearl and 8800, making it an enticing phone -- but we're still waiting for the ultimate consumer BlackBerry

    Editors’ rating: 8.2

    Dopod 838 Pro

An extremely well-equipped Pocket PC PDA-phone, Dopod has made sure that the 3G-enabled 838 Pro balances features with power so it doesn't leave you hanging when you need to access applications like Skype.

    Editors’ rating: 7.8

    Samsung BlackJack

Samsung's BlackJack is a utilitarian PDA-phone which has some consumer-friendly features that aim to balance its workhorse disposition.

    Editors’ rating: 7.5

    Sony Ericsson P1i

The P1i has most of the bells and whistles a business user could want, but the user interface is a little quirky.

    Editors’ rating: 7.6

    Nokia E61i

Nokia's successor to the E61 boasts a slimmer side profile and a 2-megapixel shooter.

    Editors’ rating: 7.2

    BlackBerry Curve 8310

RIM has incrementally upgraded the BlackBerry Curve with the addition of a GPS receiver, although we're still waiting for 3G connectivity.

    Editors’ rating: 7.1

    Motorola Q 9h

If you're looking for an attractive 3.5G PDA-phone with push e-mail, Windows Mobile 6 and a QWERTY keyboard, the Motorola Q 9h is worthy of consideration, so long as you don't need a touch-screen or Wi-Fi.

    Editors’ rating: 7.1

    Palm Treo 500v

Although it's a good smartphone, the Treo 500v needs either Wi-Fi or HSDPA to deliver that knockout punch.

    Editors’ rating: 7.0

    O2 Xda Zinc

With a faster processor, the Xda Zinc has a slight performance edge over the Dopod 838 Pro but falls short by a slight margin in terms of aesthetics. Unless you're looking for a QWERTY handheld, there are more options out there.

    Editors’ rating: 7.6

    BlackBerry 8800

A very slick high-end handset with GPS support and BlackBerry's trademark push technology that's let-down by a lack of features now standard in most smartphones.

    Got a Mio a 510

Nice little electronic wonder...Has a talking GPS in collaboration with Garmin, one Hold me on the car window arm thing, recharges with any mini USB, no wifi, but had it previously and used it may be 20 times for 2 years...

    2MB picture...

2GB storage card... (the bigger model gives a 8GB card...)

The Mio is 13'900 thb, one of the cheapest in that category, not to big as well, works on the windows pocket so good for activee sync with outlook...
If it does not fall on floor should do well...

There is another MIO for 21'000 thb around, the A510 does it for me...

There is a new Samsung that operates using 2 different sim cards , very cool IMO - except it is a piece of shit Samsung.

Will wait for Nokia to make a dual sim phone.

iPhone for 17.5K is more than fair, plus they install thai language kits etc. I got two from the U.S. for myself and Mrs, and yes, it's fantastic, and for me at least it's unthinkable to go back to a Nokia or SE. They all look and feel 10 years old next to the iPhone, lack of 3G non-withstanding. The lack of 3G would be sad except there is no 3G in Thailand anyway so same difference.

A more thorough review would mention:
1 - The phone-part of the iPhone takes some getting used to, it seems like it could / should be simpler - I guess I am missing the green phone button that Nokias have. I give Nokia this, they have the phone part figured out to a tee. But this is a very high end criticism, most people will never notice and certainly not if they come from a Motorola, HTC or other WinMob device, Blackberry... iPhone is better than most but 2nd to Nokia in this dept.
2 - I never thought I would do so much with my phone. I am surfing the web, posting on forums, checking emails, checking the weather in different places (I have set it up so it shows the handful I care about), locate stuff on Google maps all the time, even checking stocks. Why do all this with a phone? I never knew, but the iPhone makes all this easy and fun. Other phones have these features too but they are a major pain in the arse to use so I never did, just like most people.
3 - iPod. My mrs is not a techie so I didn't know whether the iPhone would be too much for her. Would she ever surf the web? No. But she needed a new iPod and a new phone and the iPod on the iPhone is actually truly brilliant, in some ways even better than the classic iPods.
4 - Almost forgot the camera The camera is "only" 2MP. But it's instantly ready, and it has no shutter delay, and these two features combine to make it the best phone cam I have had. Better than the 3MP one on the N73 for sure. It's still a phone cam, but I have already about 300 fun shots on my phone and with 8GB I am not going to run out of room, ever.
5 - Build quality. In a head on collision, this phone would surely crush any others. It's made from steel and rather strong glass which definitely won't break easily. On the contrary, it won't scratch - my display is flawless even though I have carried this thing in my front pocket without any protection for half a year now.
6 - Touch screen keyboard: Works really well, esp. if you trust it blindly you can type really fast, and the error correction is close to 100% accurate. Avoid if you have huge fingers though, then I imagine it could be a problem.

Finally - it has its bugs, I have restarted it a handful of times. But it's much more stable than the S60 phones I had. I can charge it from my laptop via USB so I don't need to take the charger, just the cable. I can also charge it with any iPod charger if I am in a crunch.
