    Display/Monitor

Any real difference between a PC monitor and a TV?

I just need to connect a PC (HDMI) and use it for movies and annoying people on ASEAN Now.

I don't need 65 inch. Currently using 40" but can go smaller if resolution is better as I could put it on a desk. (not so far away)
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all

TVs are so cheap now go for a 65 inch UHD and stick it on the wall. Then use the desk for your feet and bucket of popcorn.

Monitors don't have speakers built into them, which is probably for most people, the biggest difference.

I don't know anybody that uses the inbuilt TV speakers.

If he's using a PC then surely (I certainly hope) the PC audio output will be going into a proper sound system.

Many Computer monitors do have built in speakers. I am presently using one. Monitor I mean, rarely the speakers. Have a nice surround setup with massive subwoofer. Usually even worse than TV speakers though.

TV's have a lower DPI (Even the 4K jobbies) making the text a bit fuzzy, mostly this concerns the entry to mid level TV's.

Then there is the lag issues.

For day to day browsing and watching youtubes though, they are fine.

Get a TV and a Roku Ultra
Smart TVs are nice but they have too many proprietary preference and you are locked in to their hardware,
Where with an external device , when it gets dated, you throw it out and buy a new smart device.
anyway , you can cast your laptop to the TV wirelessly
Great since I have a VPN on my laptop .
For Win11 simply press the windows key and K.
Of course , first enable your TV in the Roku system preferences first.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

    Roku.....

Good grief. And you talk about locked into hardware.

    Get a Chromecast w/Google TV.

Chromecast is Android TV and you can install pretty well what you want on it.

Roku, like crApple, is their own, shitty ecosystem.
