    Will 4G work on 5G?

Not sure this is the right section to post in, but here goes.
It appears that 3G phones wont work on the upcoming 5G network, but there are conflicting reports as to whether 4G phones will work on 5G.
    Any thoughts or ideas?

If your phone is 5G enabled it will work. Most newer flagship phones are. You'd have to check the specs of your phone.

You need a 5g enabled phone to work on a 5g network.

4g won't be phased out anytime soon though.

If your phone doesn't have 5G, get the vaccine with the 5G chip in it. Not the chinky ones though, they only have 3G.

    It depends.
5G NR (New Radio) has no requirements of backward compatibility but mfgrs of the 5G base station can include it.
There are also two kinds of 5G NR, SA (5G StandAlone) and NSA (Non StandAlone) where NSA is a 5G addition to a 4G base station.

In NSA the 4G station will handle voice and will only hand over data connections to the 5G station when needed and only if the client can do 5G, otherwise the 4G station will handle both voice and data.

In SA there is only a 5G base station which may or may not be able to connect to 4G devices.

Most 5G NR deployments are currently of NSA type.

4G will probably be phased out around the time Thailand launches 9G.

not withstanding that 5g is pretty hopeless unless you have a clear line of sight to the tower

so until they have base stations everywhere and mounted on dogs - they will keep 4g going
