Installed it on a small laptop and it is much faster than Windows 10; there are some notable tweaks to the interface that I don't like, but they are easily undone.

The only downside is it hasn't found an audio driver for this cheap Chinese shit, so I have to go and try and dig one out.

Judging by that video (not the best way to judge) it's mostly about flogging more Microsoft stuff.

Using the word tribe when you are not Native American is not ok.

    It's free.

I mean the OP sort of gave it away.

Thanks for the usual smart-arsed obnoxiousness, but I wasn't referring to the actual update.

I meant that the update, once installed, puts the Microsoft store front and centre.

Maybe you haven't watched the video.

The Store is installed on the taskbar in Windows 10 as well. All they've done is move everything in the taskbar to the centre.

Right click on the taskbar and choose "left" instead of centre and it's back to the way it was.

Then Right Click on the store icon and unpin it from the taskbar.

None of this is new apart from the task bar alignment - which moves everything.

So no, I'm not being smartarsed, I just don't get your point. Unless you think they are trying something subliminal of course.

One thing I did notice... the (obscure) touchpad driver on this lappy wasn't detected in Win 10 so I had to install the Win 7 version.

Win 11 picked it up straight away and installed a new MS driver for it.

It's not released yet, but if you want to play with a preview, there is an ISO kicking around with an activation script that goes up to 2038.

    I did a clean install.

Of course it is. There are tribes all over the world. Apart from which, Tribe is an English word so if native Americans use the word it's cultural appropriation and white Americans are offended.

I see what you did there. Some people would call you a republican for uttering something like that.

Well that's shit, some clueless MS "UX experts" have decided the taskbar goes at the bottom and that's it.

    Wankers.

I guess it has been awhile since Windows 10. Windows 8 was a total disaster but they got it right with windows 10.
