I cannot stand Apple products. Their business model is to lock you in to their stuff and make you pay for it. If you try and use other apps...they will be buggy and crash. You either buy a Mac comp and an iPhone or forever be chasing the nonsense which is exactly the inconvenience they want.

^ Neil Diamond is great, he has a song for every occasion. Check out 'You don't buy me flowers', with Barbara Sreisand. It don't get better than that.

    The gardener prefers The Eagles.

And don't worry, I won't be visiting with the gardener, I like to get away on my own as much as possible.

What happens in the garden, stays in the garden!

I just found that song online. Good Lord. I know of Barbara Streisand. I remember her doing Christmas musical type shows that I would leave the room because I'd pull my hair out .

Your gardener prefers a good group.

Good to know on the garden rules.

My phone cover is pretty thick, I wonder if that's causing a problem with the wireless charging.

I have a 2m long cord on my charger by the bed so I can watch Netflix while charging. I don't want to lose that.

But as usual... it's not as easy as that.

This is why I am so sick of having a Mac... I just tried to download the photos from my S10 to the Mac, but the Mac doesn't recognise the phone. A bit of Googling shows I need some app called 'Android File Transfer', so I look on the app store and it's not there. I try to download the closest one I can find, and then am told I need to go to the UK store, not the Thai store. I go to the UK store and it's all fancy wireless apps.

I'll wait until my daughter's online lessons have finished, then use her Windows pc to back up the pictures onto a USB drive, then transfer them from the drive to my Mac. I know it will be so simple in Windows.
What you need is Samsung's "Smart Switch" app. For your phone you'll get it from the Play Store (if you don't already have it). For you Mac, click on the appropriate button in this link:

    Samsung Smart Switch

I use it mainly for transferring music and sometimes videos from my iMac to my phone.

Firstly, you shouldnt really use it whilst charging. Itll fuck the battery quick

Secondly, I think there lies your problem, a generic phone lead. Those kunts at Apple and Samsung have those phones reject non propietary leads so they don't fast charge like their leads and thats probably whats sending you the message.
Try a genuine Samsung lead and plug in it.

    Thirdly

Those things dont charge fast and use the old non usbc plugs from he Samsung s6 to plug into them.

They are only good as a phone stand and to make your phone look like an alarm clock on your bedside. They take hours to chqrge a phone.

You'd be better off spending that dosh on a replacement Samsung lead and the real fast charging plug that they come with..

^ Oh well, it was only 395 Baht...

I just tried to plug the genuine Samsung charger into my damn phone using the genuine Samsung USB lead that came with the damn phone... and the alarm bell goes off.

Yep, did mention that the moisture notification is back.

I tried PAG's idea above (many thanks by the way, PAG), and installed this Samsung Switch app on my phone and on the Mac. I connected the damn phone to my Mac, as the app suggested. And the alarm bell goes off as the phone seems to think I'm trying to charge it from the Mac. So I can't back up my pics... at least not until the moisture notification decides to disappear again.

My bladdy wife has gone to yet another funeral so I couldn't take our new dog to the vet, because my daughter is at home having online lessons and I don't want to leave her alone. This also means I'll be cooking lunch AND dinner today.

And now I've lost me bladdy glasses... and me daughter can't help find them because she's in the middle of an online Chinese lesson.

FFS... I can feel a lunch time Chang coming on.

^ don't listen to him, Mendip. Just like a gardener, if used correctly, a wireless charger is a game-changer.

^^ I got it free with the Note10, and it has always been good. Now, as you know, Dilly, it's all about lifestyle changes, so while at my desk, working away (not Scotch Egging...), the phone just sits on its wireless stand, so I'm at 100% most of the time.

The Glyph Atom backup drive (with the excellent iTimeMachine) is going into one of my 4 available USB-Cs. The HDMI is connected to my Samsung 32" Widescreen 144Hz 2k monitor (have I mentioned that? Excellent value at £220 pounds, can't get anything like it for that kinda money; I was lucky to run across the display model (last in stock) being sold cheap...

Mate the device has a fault and if it's got one it may develop another.

Go and change the shit and worry about wireless charging later.

^ Yeah, I see that now Harry.

I'm not going to attempt any workarounds but need to wirelessly charge it for now to keep it working, and to wait until the next time the moisture notification goes away when I can connect it to a computer to download pictures. Then it's off to the Samsung Service Centre.

^ Or wives for that matter.

I guess because they're so good for most of the time these days it's extra annoying when they go wrong.

(that's phones and computers I'm talking about)

Sorry to hear of your trouble. Just thought I'd post a a response from a guy in the Samsung Community.

Well guess what! Samsung wanted £300 to REPLACE USB CHARGING PORT WHICH IS FITTED IN MOTHERBOARD!!!
BIGGEST SCAM GOING. my s10+ was on charge for 1 hour, neither was the Mobile wet nor usb. I heard this buzzer which read "moisture detection remove usb" and upon doing so i could smell burning. Tried 3 more usb and it burnt all 3.
Samsung said usb cable had moisture inside so that was the cause not Samsung fault and wanted & £300. I was left traumatised and still cannot charge with a usb, i can't afford £300 on a small port which costs £30, they pretend to fix it to motherboard and everyone knows they are not cheap

Aren't you photos synced to Google Drive? If not, set it up.

All my pictures are synced with Google photos, but Google stores a compressed version, or at least the free Google account does. The pics are typically 500 to 600Kb instead of their original 4 to 5 Meg.

This is fine for showing pics in emails or on TD for example, but I'd like to back-up the full resolution version of the pics before taking the phone in, in case they do a reset, or change out something. Today seems to be a Buddha holiday day, so I can't take it in anyway. Hopefully the moisture notification will disappear at some point before tomorrow so I can connect the phone to a pc and back-up the pics.

One reason I like to keep a full resolution back-up is that I have an elderly mother in the UK who is not computer enabled, despite years of encouragement. Every few months I upload photos to Photobox and then send prints to her house. Full resolution photos look much better in hard copy.

Edit... I replied before looking at your link Harry. Many thanks for the effort.

So, Google Drive and Google photos are different... I need to look and see if Google drive stores full resolution photos. If so that would solve everything.

    ^^^ Thanks Pragmatic... I think

Not very encouraging... but I've had a good result previously from the Samsung Service Centre in Korat so I will remain hopeful.

A few years ago I tried to charge an almost brand new Samsung A5 using a taxi drivers non-Samsung charger and it fried the motherboard. I took it into the service centre (still in warranty) and they replaced the mother board without comment. I of course told them I had no idea how it happened.

This S10+ issue seems pretty clear cut to me - it's just faulty. I know the phone hasn't been exposed to moisture, other than the usual humid climate. It's supposed to be waterproof down to 6 feet or something, FFS.
