Loads of issues reported with them...you need good cabling apparently
Good luck with that in Thailand with your average Thai sparky's handiwork....
Although it might make it superfast with no earth leads...

They work fine Dill even in Thailand as long as your plug sockets are on the same ring.

^ Not if you have wonky or old wiring.

What latency, bandwidth and ms do you get on your ping and whats the diference in upload and download speeds then?

You can't beat an ethernet lead for speed and reliability.

Whack a screwdriver through the ceiling, thread a 30 metre, 400 baht wire up there, Bobs your Uncle, Bettys your Aunt.

I would not advise them - they superimpose the digital transmission on the analog power sine wave and are not that reliable - and as it is thailand your wiring may vary

again - just get a 30 meter cat6 LAN cable and run it from your internet router to your kids room - and there you can probably just place a wifi access point so he can use both wifi and wired ( get a 5 meter cable also for the wired connection )
a basic TP LINK wifi gig switch is probably only 500baht

powerline adapters are shit - Google-haku
The thing about them is that you will never get the advertised speeds. But that doesn't matter because all you really have to do is beat your Internet bandwidth.

Let's face it, your kids can only watch Pornhub at the speed of your Internet connection.

Added: I installed some Develo's (they had the best reviews) for a mate a couple of years ago and he has never had an issue. His missus uses Netflix and all in the bedroom and never a complaint.

(At least that's what she tells him she watches).

Just joined TD, so this is a late reply. Be careful with extenders, using them requires a hand off, meaning you can momentarily lose connectivity or remain on a weaker signal from either device when you change locations in the house. If you are using two WAP’s via an extender to make your connections in a larger house or through concrete walls you may have experienced this, I know because it drove me crazy in my place.

The solution is a mesh router(s) although I don’t care for anything Google, they (and many others) do make an excellent mesh system for just this issue. They are flat out great performers and you need only one WAP. You can use them wired or wireless and they auto switch between 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ depending on your proximity or device requirements. They take less than 5 min each to set up, have an intuitive Phone app that allows for added controls for guest access or throttling by device.

Christ, I sound like a Google Ad 🤪
