Selling enterprise keys to private users has been declared legal by EU authorities and Microsoft respects it, if they are installed and activated within the EU.

That's only OEM keys that you buy with a machine, and if you are giving up the right to use them.

These are sold in blocks and are obviously stolen EA Keys. Microsoft EA keys are not sold, they are licensed.

So they'll probably get turned off once M$ discover they are being used outside the owners business.

And no, it's not legal to pirate licensed EA keys.

Yes, version, and if not available from MS then maybe a torrent.

You can think what you want. But EU courts have declared it is legal to use those keys in the EU and Microsoft accepts it. That's both for windows and for office. I have been using these keys since Windows 7 times and never had any problems with them.

The key is sent to your email together with a download link for a genuine Win10pro image in case you need to reinstall.

I had my Win10pro (bought from a Thai distributor of computer thingys) installed an all computers in my home and then I bought a couple of ebay keys
    to make them individual.
The link worked first time, now gets error message...update: no ploplem, got another one for 1 euro.

Hey thanks for that, I didn't realise product keys could be sold, in the old days I had access to literally thousands of uni keys for Win/Office etc, coulda made a fortune.

I'd guess someone reported him to Microsoft, Harry is high on the list of suspects..
There are many sellers, some with the exact price and picture as the one I linked to. Search for Win10 activation in ebay's search field.

The key is only $4 so not much to cry for if you get cheated.
The key will work on your currently installed Win10pro unless it is a very dodgy patched copy so enter it and see what happens. I expect it to work.
It will in any case not destroy anything, worst case is that it wont register so you'll have to re-install Win10pro from the MS download link.

A euro or $4 won't make too much difference, but I went for the cheaper one and as you say if nothing happens it's no big deal.

So, they sent me a key, didn't work, I emailed, they responded asking for more info within minutes but I've been afk for a while so will update when something happens.

Not having to reinstall Win is the mission, and I shouldn't need to; according to the system data it's properly activated.

Stolen key or not, if it hasn't been noticed yet, you can open an administrative command prompt and type:

    slmgr.vbs /ipk #####-#####-#####-#####-#####

That usually activates a working key even when it won't go through the GUI.

So far 4 keys (pm if anyone wants for a new install), none work though it's no reflection on their excellent service; I think the problem could be my end either with the installed version or its activation key.

I opened cmd with admin privileges via cntrl/shift/enter, then

That Windows 10 Home must be what came with the computer, and before it was replaced with Pro.

So I tried cmd with another key they sent, success message came through and the red warning message disappeared; mission accomplished, almost but not quite...

now it's not activated; eyes going fuzzy, there's always tomollo...

All these little payments are nom doubt very good business for them... I'm with 'Arry on this; I'd go nowhere near online 'activation keys' whether the EU thinks it's ok or not, makes no difference to Microsoft stopping them working by various means including endless irritating messages. MS is shite, endless problems, I don't know why you don't just bite the bullet and get a Mac. But, if you wanna stick with MS then the only way to get close to a decent experience is just pay them the money, get your account up and running and they won't bother you with endless messages and shutdowns, they'll just bother you with annual bills (or monthly if you prefer...).

I wonder if the activation keys are linked to territories? If so, that could be part of the divergence of experience?

Fair comment, but I already have paid them the money, for Home not Pro, and I really don't need the hassle of reinstalling yet again.

For now my Pro is not activated, but on the plus side the nags have stopped, so the 1 euro bought me at least this morning's peace of mind.

    Jabir, what do you use?

For example, I use Onenote and the Office suite aswellas Outlook and the MS Drive - all of them work perfectly (and free) on my Macs. I've been running Macs for just over 2 years and not had a single problem with an MS product on any of them. &, work uses MS operating systems which have endless problems. It's really night and day, I'm 'out' and I'm never going back!

No, more likely they are linked to customers.
