Brave browser - anybody tried it?

A new browser was launched recently, called Brave.

Apparently it blocks YouTube ads and is fast and private and invented by a guy who also helped make Firefox.

Has anybody used it? Thoughts and feedback ??

yes - it is available on win and android

it has it own crypto called BAT which you can use for micropayments to websites - set who you want to receive in the config - check to see if it comes with a whitelist of allowed advertisers

I use it rarely on windows as one of a suite of browsers installed - though there is not linux install for now , I think it is chromium based

They all seem a bit similar
But tried Opera Mini from Google play on my android, as my internet provider is a bit prudish with a lust for censorship; even The Urban Dictionary is nuked, this lad seems to cut some corners, and merely as a test, I found adult website Xhamster was accessable, though it did struggle with another called Chaturbate - so no talking to bored young housewives for me...
Seems to have a built in adblocker too, which tries it's best.

No. That's why I am asking.

My thing is more creative stuff as far as computers are concerned. There are other people who are more talented and informed for this kind of stuff than me, here at TD.

Do you have a problem with me asking ??

    Certainly seek another server, Eddie.

It just seems odd to ask others about a browser. It's a browser. Just fucking download it and try it for yourself. Is that too difficult for you? Why the need to ask others for such a simple thing? FFS. Kids these days.

No - It's not odd to ask about a new browser in a computer news forum.

What is odd though, is for the admin on a forum to troll users.

It's no wonder this forum is like a ghost town these days. You really come across as an angry narcissistic bully.

It's a shame dirtydog is not here to put you in your place.

    Hi Wally,

I have been using Brave for 6 months.
It gives you stats when you open a new tab.

Currently reporting 529,702 ads & trackers blocked. 21,380 HTTPS upgrades, & 7.4 hours estimated time saved.
    Use duckduckgo search engine.

It has been estimated that 10-15% of bandwidth is used to serve all of the unwanted suggestions that the other browsers push out.

    It seems fast & secure.
The biggest difference noted is the removal of the paid ads & reminders of something that you have searched on previously.

    Highly recommend.

    ^ Thanks Maf!

I have had to move a lot of unwanted files, etc. into the trash recently as my hard-disc is full, but I will make room for it!

    What is it a laptop?
Buy an SD card and move some files to that.
Computers don't work well when the memory is nearly full
    Something like this 128 GB
SanDisk Ultra 128 GB SDXC Class 10 Memory Card up to 80 Mbps: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Pretty cool to have that kinda stuff integrated into a browser.

I wouldn't want a Brave browser. I'd want a cowardly one that was terrified of anything dangerous looking and blocked it.
