"A required device" is prolly the hard disk but you can see in the bios if it has detected any disk or not.
It is the only device I can think of that Windows would complain about being missing.

Looks like it has dodgy issues with battery/power supply switch from the messages.

My 1 year old top spec coffeelake i7 SSD 16GB Asus rocketship has just gone back to the dealer for the 2nd time in less than a year.

They may be cheap but they are not strong on power supply reliability.

I only discovered that the battery/power supply switch on mine was not working when I accidentally unplugged it while savagely beating this cute little mouse to death a few days ago.

That was the luckiest mouse ever (for me, not for the mouse) as the beating occurred 4 days before the warranty expired.

The little mouse is in the freezer now but I am thinking of defrosting it and giving it a proper burial in honour of the warranty service it provided.

Type the error code into Google and follow the Youtube or webpage instructions. Personally, I would just hand it over and pay Somchai to f&k it up.

It's not mine. I've never even seen it before.

And that's not just a prepared statement for the police.

[QUOTE=Dillinger;4016588]Didn't Gary Glitter get nicked doing that

Gary Glitter first got nicked when he took his pc into a PC World in Bristol for fixing, and someone checked his hard drive.

He used to live in Wedmore in Somerset and used to pop in to my local at the time, the Lamb Inn in Axebridge, near Cheddar. He was as bald as a coot even back in the early 90s and you wouldn't recognise him without his wig.

Frankie Howerd lived in Cross, near Axebridge and also drank in the Lamb Inn, but that was before my time.

Arkwright from the John Smiths adverts (with the dog) also drank in the Lamb Inn, and he drank Guinness!

    Ok... carry on!

Does it boot up if you take the battery out and it's plugged in? (Assuming the battery is removable).

I had an Asus and it was in for repair 3 times in the first four months. New Motherboard etc etc. Fucked up one more time and I asked for my money back and bought something else.

Topper was right. Give it to Butters. He's always looking for something hard to sit on.

    Try the wireless switch

I am guessing the windows error code is a generic saying it broke

Pull the hard drive and put it in a USB enclosure and copy it

Then put it back and follow online instructions to fix mbr

I don't think it's a boot error. It would probably give a message like "Boot error".

It explicitly talks about battery. Maybe the Clock battery needs changing?

If it gives the same error without the main battery being plugged in, that's what I'd look at next.

Why not just ask Somchai what is wrong with it?
Surely he has given you that price because he knows the problem, ie it needs a new power supply or hard drive for that price.

Buy a Macbook. You'll get a lot more attention from attractive young people in coffee shops - I struggle to fight off all the attention (although I am a particularly hamsung man...).

I think we need to go back to basics.

I am just a messenger that's never even seen the thing.
