    No option for Admin log-on

Bought a new computer, at auction, could have been a demo ... don't know.

It's an Acer SP111-32N and it's running Windows 10 S ... meaning it will only allow Microsoft allowed apps from it's apps store.

How Fu*ked is that for example I can't even download Firefox because it's not 'approved' by the app store.

So, you are able to get out of the 'S' mode, but when I try and run the suggestion I need to log on as Administrator.

    ... and I get this.

The 'show more details' just shows the CLSID code

    Thus my first road block.

So ... how to get around this?

How can I log on as the Admin?

OH ... please no posts about installing other operating systems etc ... not required.

    Thanks in Advance

    Summary:

you should be able to boot into Safe mode where the login screen will show a user account that does not normally appear; it has the username Administrator and it exists for precisely this situation - when no functioning user-created Admin accounts exist on the computer.

You can use this If you get an Admin prompt in which the Yes button is greyed out or missing & which does not show a password entry box, your Admin-level account has suffered from user profile corruption and is no longer functional.

Before fixing the problem using the procedures in this article, it is worth documenting the current state of all your user accounts as a reference during this procedure. Full instructions for doing so are provided.
Some potentially quick recovery procedures, such as Restore from a system restore point, might work in your circumstances so this article starts by identifying the most common of them.

If you cannot recover using one of these quick solutions, however, you should be able to boot into Safe mode where the login screen will show a user account that does not normally appear; it has the username Administrator and it exists for precisely this situation - when no functioning user-created Admin accounts exist on the computer.

You can use this Built-In account to create new Admin-level accounts for your own use. Once you have made those new Admin-level accounts you will once again have control over your computer including the ability to give permission for such things as installations. The Administrator account will then be disabled once again by the system and you will not see it in the list of user accounts at login.

This article guides you through booting into Safe mode then creating two new Admin-level user accounts. You can then either make use of one of them as your day-to-day user account or can use them to create an additional account for day-to-day use.Built-In account to create new Admin-level accounts for your own use. Format the fucker and put a kosher Windows 10 on it.

Unless it's a crappy Celeron with 1Gb of RAM, in which case put Linux on it.

    Either way, wipe the fucker.

JHC. If Win 10 wasn't bad enough, they go and do that!

I've Win 10 on laptop that's (thankfully) hardly ever used. What a crock. Win 7 Ultimate on the 3 main PC's.

I'd look at formatting it and trying to replace it with another OS if possible.

Unless it's easy to get it sorted and Win 10 runs well for what ye need.
