Might your trusty but slightly tired older laptop or desktop PC be needing a shot in the arm to encourage it to run faster and get jobs completed in less time? As our bodies get older, we humans can personally identify with PCs needing new energy to maintain a high-quality existence.
Thinking along these same lines, Seagate came out July 3 with a new internal BarraCuda solid-state disk designed to take data movement inside PCs to a higher-than-normal speed level with flash media and a SATA 6GB/s interface.
This things run rings around just about every hard drive out there, and they are noted for fast start-up and close down.
Key features provided by BarraCuda SSD include:
Speed: This is designed to maximize drive performance and is equipped with flash-speed function up to 560MB/s and 90K IOPs that accelerates boost-time, file transfers and application loading, the company claims.
Five-Year Warranty: The BarraCuda SSD comes with a 5-year warranty, 1.8M hrs. MTBF and up to 1092 TBW with 24-hr Global Technical Support.
Versatility, Low-Power Support: The BarraCuda SSD offers versatility with multiple capacity options (250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB) and a standard 2.5” form factor with SATA 6Gb/s interface to enable users to easily integrate into most laptops and desktop PCs. It is optimized for maximum capacity and equipped with ultra-low power mode support for reduced power consumption, Seagate said.
The new internal solid-state disk will be available on Amazon exclusively starting on Prime Day 2018 (July 16 and 17), prior to general availability in September.
