I just got another 12GB so this time I did the partition first! (At least I have learnt). Acer service center said that my laptop can see only 40GB, not more than this but Xzyte and a guy in a repair shop said that same that the maximum for this model was 80GB so we will see after I install the bladdy damn Windows.
All are ermm.... (No GoW, you don't say it!)
Well, I partitioned it into 3 drives, C - 30 GB, D - 40 GB and E - 40 GB. The result is, the system can see only 1 partition which is C so I lost 80GB!!!Originally Posted by Goddess of Whatever
So, forget it. I will just use the 120 GB one for my external one then.
GoW, try doing a disk management check on the new drive.
ie: do the same as we described earlier ( Run --> diskmgmt.msc )
I think you'll find your system now tells you you have "Unallocated" space??
^I think they are there if you check in Windows diskmanager. They only need to be formatted in order to be seen.
I've already replaced the 40GB here. I'll try again tomorrow. Thank you.
By the way, I'm downloading the Acronis True Immage, just wanna try if it can do the partition stuff.
True image won't do your partition stuff.
It will essentially take a mirror image of your o/s, in case of total failure, so you are able to reload your current system and settings.
Oh.. damn.. misunderstood again.
What a fool I am.
Cheers!
Ok, one more question.
For my 120GB, I need a case for it. Is it easy to find?
If you mean an enclosure then yes easy to find.Originally Posted by Goddess of Whatever

Yeah, shouldn't be any prob, as Thetyim says.
Oh.. 750 Baht!!! That's expensive but I really need one though.
The 2.5 inch ones are only 300 baht but the 3.5 inch ones are 750b because they have their own power supply and don't use the USB for powerOriginally Posted by Goddess of Whatever
in farangland, a nice USB 3.5 eSATA/Firewire case is about 40 Euros (2000 THB)
Okie guys, I bought one already. It's really cute red one which is only 350 Baht and Thetyim is right that no its own power supply but it's ok, I don't mind.
Now, another question. As I told you guys that I tried to install Windows in this one (120GB) but my Acer processor can see only one partition (C which I actually separated it in 3 partitions so I took this one as external HD instead. Now I want to delete the partitions and make it as only one single drive. What should I do?
Thanks in advance.
No help needed. It has been done by Disk Management.
Okie, this thread's closed!
--> rigth click --> format drive --> Ok.
That'll close the thread, in a way I suppose
