Any legitimate uses for a USB killer

So there I am whiling away some minutes and discover something about DIY USB killers.

Are there any legitimate uses for these idiotic devices other than malevolent and malicious?

The only legitimate use is to test whether or not your device is vulnerable.

Of course it getting fried is a really good way of proving this.

If I was still working for the Government I could think of many uses.

One question; after you've fried a computer is the USB burner reusable?

    Foking technology.

I remember the mid 90's when it was rumored if you take a floppy disk apart (remember them), put clear nail varnish on the disk part, then grate the top of match sticks onto it, you could put he disk back together and leave it for someone to put into their computer. the laser would hit the clear nail varnish, which would ignite the sulphur on the disk and it wold create a nice blue flame coming out of one's disk drive before melting the whole computer.

Any members got an old disk drive computer and some disks to test this Urban Myth?
