Had the Galaxy S7 Edge for a few months, and more than happy with it. 32Gb with a 128Gb SD card, waterproof, brilliant camera and screen. What's not to like?

    ^ touch jizz...

    ops... wizzzzz

although mine and your phone, does have the best screen, camera can still hold its own against the new dual camera iphone 7 plus... I'm just a fussy prick - small things *annoyances do my head in...

last week for instance, going to dad's for dinner... my fucking phone's GPS map, took us oh so tantalizingly close to Dad's street, took us down dead end roads and around in circles.., little fucker! wasted 30 mins of my life I can never get back.. I can vouch the Sg6 is a tough bastard, cause I thumped the shit out of it, in frustration heh...

had to resort to using Mrs. Dick's iphone 4 to save the day... oh the shame...

if you don't sweat the small stuff - and or love to customize your phone S7/S6 are still good (if not as buttery smooth as the new iphone)...which, for this incarnation, was more of a refinement of the near perfect iphone 6s, than a revolution. Apple are saving up their wizardry for the 10th Anniversary iphone 8 next year.

Oh, one more consideration: if you buy any android phone (at least in NZ) don't expect to be able to sell it in the future for a good price... at least with iphone, you
can always sell it on at a decent price.

I had the complete opposite experience with Samsung.

An overreaction during a domestic tiff caused my spanking new phone to launch itself against the wall. With some force.

First trip to samsung and they happily replaced the screen, clicked all the hanging bits back into place and didn't charge me a thing despite the damage clearly being outside the conditions of the warranty.

Then a few days later the screen became unresponsive. So they put a new hard-drive (I guess its called. The main bit of the phone without the screen) onto the new screen. Again, no charge.

3 years on and it still works fine (apart from a pretty weak battery)

^ Like I said, I'm just an ultra weird/fussy/OCD guy about phones (and to be honest, the smallest details about everything in life really lol)...

Aliens could invade and I would be unperturbed - I notice the slightest lag, stutter glitch on my phone and it ruins my day...

I've given up being a spec-whore... oh look! my phone has 4 gig of ram! and 6 trillion pixels (that my eyes can't fooking see!)...

yeah bro, good on ya! but it still fooking stutters like a gigaboo...

I'm getting older, I want nice, reliable things... that's why I sold my fag hairdresser SLK 350, for a Toyota wish hah..

I got one of these a little while back:
    ZTE Blade A711 16GB (Silver) | Lazada.co.th

    So far it's been flawless.

Nice and quick, very nice screen and reasonable camera and the best thing for me is that it doesn't come loaded up with all sorts of crapola that I will never use, fingerprint scanner to wake it up which is very handy. Can be dual sim or 1 sim+memory card in the second slot.

Plus, at a hair under 4,500 Baht I won't lose any sleep when I inevitably accidentally sit on it or drop it into a bucket of water or something.

It has compass functionality too which might be of interest.

with that resolution harry , unless your compression algorithm is based on magic and you like to know on your goat porn if it is a nipple or a horn and you have more than one movie , I would suggest 128 gig is not enough

    Video 2160p@30fps
how many gig per minute for storage ?

Good point, although I hardly ever use it for video.

Don't know TBH, I have no use for it so have never tried it. I did try the OTG with a "Samsung compatible" cheapo cable and no joy - the intergoogles seem split on if this thing can do OTG or not.

I'll look into that one of these days.

Most of what I'm reading in techie stuff suggests the Chinese manufacturers are taking over the market. For my first smartphone (not super-premium, just around 7-8K), I'm thinking of a Huawei.

They do an Android phone too (more expensive)- but can anyone explain why i should bother?

^ You guys are penny pinchers... phones range in price from $100 - right up to iphone 7 plus obscenely priced @ $1,600... (kiwi money).

I admit, no matter how much you have in the bank, $1,600 is hard to justify (for a bloody phone!)... you can buy a mid-range laptop for that sort of money FFS..

That's why I'm procrastinating the inevitable switch to iphone...

Please consider a OnePlus phone. I have the OnePlus One and it is easily the best phone I have ever had. Current model is OnePlus Three
