Firefox, Chrome and Edge have a feature to allow you to recover from a crashed session.
The problem is that, in order to keep this current, they both write huge amounts of data to disk, 20Gb to 30Gb a day in many cases (at least I know it does in the first two). Obviously this is not ideal if your profile is saved on an SSD.
In Firefox, you can either change the location of where they write these session restores (if you have a good old fashioned HDD), or if you aren't that fussed, you can change the interval or disable it completely.
I'll leave it to a Firefox user to post the details.
In Chrome there is no (longer) a way of disabling or managing this feature; however it seems Incognito mode does not use it.
