In the space of a week I've had my Samsung S7 die on me, my Huawei won't take SD cards, I spilt 'water' on my work HP laptop (they're deliberating fixing or replacing it, but charging THB10k to extract data from the drive), and had to drop cash for a new personal laptop.

    Trust none of this shite.

But only lost a bit of data, as I some do cross-back up my files from time to time on various external hard drives I have lying about.

Fucking nuisance all this teknologee is.

so what was the capacity when you checked it ?
cheeky gits always shave a few GB off
    with this excuse

    CAPACITY
    128GB, (1GB=1Billionbyte)
    * Actual usable capacity may be less (due to formatting, operating system, applications or otherwise)

makes as much sense as this:

Father Ted: Would you like your pizza cut into 6 or 8 slices Dougal?
    Father Dougal: Oh just 6, I don't think I could eat 8.

Water in computer. Computer destroyed. Read - one of the first things a child is taught at school. Techy-boy doesn't repair destroyed computers. HP replaces them.

If you cannot read, go back to Square 1/Grade 1.

SD cards - I had a couple of 32 meg ones I finally threw into the box of old parts , same with a coule of mini-sd cards

At a really wild guess, for transferring stuff from a PC to your phone if you haven't got a cable handy.

    Do I win?

    logical but
theres no apparant hole to stick the card in to
it's more like one of those usb wireless keyboard ' mouse efforts

    Harry or anyone else
do you know Microsoft Word well ?

I'm preparing a book document, for my Ivona text to speech reader to convert to an audio book.
but it has, as usual , the fecking page numbers still there, which means i'll have to laborioudly wade through and delete them .

Is it possible to use the Review Search and find fubction or whatever
and tell it to search for numbers say 1 to 200
so i can then delete them all in one good ?

    Word 2016
I don't think there are headers etc

I convert the epub book to RTF in Calibre so Word can use it and I
    can clean it up ,
then i put the plain text into the text to speech reader.

Another example that holds me up like this Celline book

    /Journey%20to%20the%20End%20of%20the%20Night%20-%20Louis%20Ferdinand%20Celine.rtf?dl=0

The numbers in the brackets for explanations in the glossary at the back of the book. but it messes up the audio reading big time .

There must be some formula in Word to select all the numbers in brackets etc and then delete them but i'm only a beginner
    eg
After a while the conversation turned to President Poincaré,[4] who was due to inaugurate a puppy show that same morning, and that led to Le Temps[5] where I'd read about it.

Look harder, the packaging says USB adapter, so that microSD fits in there somehow!

Put your thumb nail into the slot and pull off the cover, then slide your card in.

If that doesn't work, maybe the card actually slides up into the bottom of the USB slot.

fuck it, i'll throw the usb thing away ill use the big sd card / adapter slot.

I stuck the micro sd card into the tablet
this android 6 marshmallow is different
it can't use the card unless the tablet formats it ..
So i put it in and the tablet tells me off
saying it's a slow card - I'd be better off with a faster one.

maybe the card is fake ? It says class 10 on it ...... ummm

I used to have small prog or something on my pc that tests cards speed - but I can't find it , anyone know similar tester ?

Yes, I had one once and tried it on a card. It gave me a load of results, none of which I understood, so I deleted the pogramme.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rdTester&hl=en

    i might try this later

Test the speed and storage capacity of your external card.
    * User can select where to write the test file.
    * User can define the size of the test file.Application will write a test file and read it back testing it's content.
It will test the speed and the storage capacity. Useful to check for a damaged or fake card.
Some cards claim to be 32 GB but are in fact less. These cards are fake. Use this app to find out if yours is a fake one or not. Just set the test file size to the max size available and start the test.
