Anyone bought anything similar recently from Pantip or Future?

This might give you an idea of prices. I tend to buy my SSD's from them.

This may give you some idea. ?????? ??????? SSD - Solid State Drive ??????? | Lazada.co.thOriginally Posted by VocalNeal
I guess you are talking about a normal SATA 7mm 2.5 inch drive
Buy Samsung 1TB 2.5" SSD 850 Evo Series (MZ-75E1T0BW) - invadeit.co.th
I have used invadeit for multiple bits over the years - even a laptop - and have found it to be worth a small premium to get the service and device I wanted
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.
to deliver to thailand ?Originally Posted by harrybarracuda
and the fornt page has adds for M.2 sata 6 Gbs SSDs ?
what the fcuk is that supposed to mean
M.2 is connected to the PCIe bus and has the bandwidth ( expecially if 8 path ) to way outperform SATA
a proper SSD with a real M.2 correctly setup makes the CPU the bottleneck

Yeah, I use them a lot. Fast service and the owner (Swedish I think) and staff are pretty knowledgeable. They can also get more unusual items (e.g. specialist graphics cards, etc) which aren't listed on the websiteOriginally Posted by baldrick
I am also interested in a SSD hard disk, but
whaw, expensive,...
but do I need 1 TB?
Can't I just put only my OS on a small SSD Hard disk,
and all the rest on a normal Hard disk?
no - a 250 gig is where the sweetspot is at the moment - though 500 gig is getting thereOriginally Posted by importford
just keep a portable USB3 2TB drive to keep most of your goat porn on
And that is a bad thing how? This is why we overclock and take advantage of water cooling. I will not be building a new box until Broadwell-E is released and by then I highly doubt that my new 6-10 core beast will be bottlenecked at all.Originally Posted by baldrick

- I don't live in Thailand so yes I can ship them to my front door here in the sandpit.
- "Also seen as 12Gb/s, 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s. The Gb/s stands for Gigabits per second. This is the throughput speed the SAS 3.0, 2.0 and 1.0 specs have. 12G = 4800MB/s, 6G = 2400MB/s and 3G = 1200MB/s. These speeds are theoretical and real world results are often less depending on which controller card, sas expander, drives and raid level are used."
Now stop trying to be a smartarse, there's a good boy.
He was asking how much 1TB's cost.

and if you can see over your sneering upper lip you will notice that I did answer his question
his SSD question has reminded me that I was looking at M.2 drives to go in a mini ATX build , so thus I was also starting conversation about them
considering many of our members do not realise there are very fast SSD drives which have only been released in recent months and are not much more expensive than 2.5 inch drives I thought it would also be helpful to some to enlighten them on what was available
in conclusion - get fcuked harry

sweet spot got to be 500
my 250 SSD is too small, always juggling stuff about on it
but the short term solution:

for an extra 256 GB ( ok 238-- don't know what happened to the other 12 GB but still, its massive , last one i had was 32gb.

I run my torrents and SACD music of it
leaving my main SSD free to house all my stolen software programs

Da price lookalikeabee around 200 to 300 Usd fora one TB...
Or 2/3 to 3/4 of a Bitcoin, for lite or zcash go chrome if your Linux allows
I will bet most of it is stuff you do not useOriginally Posted by blue
I have a 128 half size mPCIe with my 2 OS's on and programs and a 2.5 inch 250 with the movies and docs and sh1t
I just reasonable regularly move the big stuff off to a 2 TB USB3
unless you want to spend the money a 250 is big enough - especially if you are on a desktop
If Pantip is not the place it used to be , where in Bangkok would I look for puta stuff if I visited.
pantip still has the gear at places like bananait , hardware house etc
I just find now that unless I am looking for something different then I will just order it from invadeit
Fortune Town is the best for new stuff these days.
Thanks, googled Fortune - even I could find it.
fortune town - rama 9 subway stop
I went there a few months ago to find a PCIe USB3 card
it is not as crowded as pantip
It's right next to Phra Ram 9 station on the MRT.
Also, there is a specialist Ukulele shop in there for all your Ukulele needs.
I've always found that fascinating. It must be the Ukulele epicentre of Bangkok.
Four floors, too.
