I have been living in TIT for 4 years and have tried to get the best HDTV and satellite system available for TV wherever abouts I was at the time. So, I guess, bein' a stupid cvnt, I always thought only one internet connection was available. So here in CM, I been payin' 300 THB/mo. for a LAN cable including wifi from my condo building that provides, let's say, about 3.3 Mbps download speed. Low and behold I'm walking thru Kad Suan Kaew and I see a store called Sinet Fiber Optic that provides advertised speeds I don't think were available in USA two years ago: e.g., download speed of 100 Mbps and upload speed of 40 Mbps. Of course, this is expensive: a yearly month-to-month contract (don't laugh) of 9,900 THB (plus tax)/mo. Everybody deposits 1000 THB and that's why it's called yearly: if you cancel before a year, you don't get the deposit back. Anytime you cancel after one year you get it back. You also pay the first month's fee in advance and must give 30 days notice when you want to quit. All of your payments, not including the first, are on the day of month of the installation date (I think the installation fee is 1500 THB).
I'm not sure what areas they cover. They used google earth to determine my location and, since I live steps away from Kad Suan Kaew, I have no installation problem.
Anyways, I opted for a promotion deal where I pay 899 THB/mo for no lower than 20 (usually 15) Mbps download speed and 6 (usually 5) Mbps upload speed. But just to see if they are as good as their word, I don't give a shit if it's cost me 2,500 THB. That's all, plus one month's rent, I'm committed to.
alright, let's get somebody--Baldrick, kingwilly, etc.--- and anybody else wit balls to say what they think they know about this subject of internet speed.
