Internet speed in LOS (and abouts)

I have been living in TIT for 4 years and have tried to get the best HDTV and satellite system available for TV wherever abouts I was at the time. So, I guess, bein' a stupid cvnt, I always thought only one internet connection was available. So here in CM, I been payin' 300 THB/mo. for a LAN cable including wifi from my condo building that provides, let's say, about 3.3 Mbps download speed. Low and behold I'm walking thru Kad Suan Kaew and I see a store called Sinet Fiber Optic that provides advertised speeds I don't think were available in USA two years ago: e.g., download speed of 100 Mbps and upload speed of 40 Mbps. Of course, this is expensive: a yearly month-to-month contract (don't laugh) of 9,900 THB (plus tax)/mo. Everybody deposits 1000 THB and that's why it's called yearly: if you cancel before a year, you don't get the deposit back. Anytime you cancel after one year you get it back. You also pay the first month's fee in advance and must give 30 days notice when you want to quit. All of your payments, not including the first, are on the day of month of the installation date (I think the installation fee is 1500 THB).

I'm not sure what areas they cover. They used google earth to determine my location and, since I live steps away from Kad Suan Kaew, I have no installation problem.

Anyways, I opted for a promotion deal where I pay 899 THB/mo for no lower than 20 (usually 15) Mbps download speed and 6 (usually 5) Mbps upload speed. But just to see if they are as good as their word, I don't give a shit if it's cost me 2,500 THB. That's all, plus one month's rent, I'm committed to.

alright, let's get somebody--Baldrick, kingwilly, etc.--- and anybody else wit balls to say what they think they know about this subject of internet speed.

As long as you're not trying to upload big graphics files, it's OK. Depending on your area and how many other folks are 'sucking on the pipe', those numbers are fine.

My download is 1.93. Upload .92. Could get higher, if I was willing to pay double or triple. But works ok for what I do.

After visiting Crackerjack with his blazing 50MB/s download speed via TOT fiber optic, I decided to update myself on my ISP speed costs.

The wife had the internet bill and we were paying something like 900B with VAT for a 15MB connection (799B base price I think).

I got to looking online and True offers a 100MB connection for 1100B/month, so probably 1250B/month. We upgraded to that. speedtest.net gives the wife's wired connection ~129MB/s. My wireless is limited to around 50.

If you're using True, you can get 30MB for 600B/month and 50MB/800B. All it took for me was a phone call and it was set up within a couple of hours.

I can get over 25 (twenty five) mb down with this and a wired connection. Not from just one download but when I have about 10 active downloads going at once.

    No vpn enabled.

https://teakdoor.com/computer-news/17...0-50-mbps.html (I upgraded to 3BB 200/50 Mbps Fiber Package for 1200/Month - "Slow" Wifi Speed?)

Best decision I've made recently was upgrading to this package.

Had to go offshore before resolving the slow wifi issue though.
