Mine tested at .87 Mbps download (which is what you're really concerned about when it comes to internet speed) which is shit. For example, if I am on a particularly heavy Web site, I won't even get access or, if I do, it won't complete the transaction unless I close all other pages on the browser (i use Chrome). But it will get it done.
In other words, your provider could be the problem, as simple as that. I think your company will understand, if you present the facts (Mbps) and results (can't complete any work in a timely and efficient manner). Also, do you have your company's network, log on and password? Do you log on to it from home (it doesn't require opening your browser)? That's the first thing you want to do after you open your computer (just like you do at work). For curiosity's sake, open Explorer and see what shows under Network at the bottom. If you log on to your company's network, you should see some improvement.
