I expect this Apple laptop to last a long time.
My Acer (which is still running but clunky and freezing up at times) is 8 years old.
Eight years old.
It has been so good to me. I got very lucky.
I have used this almost every day....for 8 years.
I hope this Apple Mac pro laptop has legs, too.
............
Keep it in its plastic bag and store it in its box in a cool dry place and it will last for years and years.Originally Posted by barbaro

First reactions:
Good computer (sure), but I have to get used to do things differently on it.
On PC laptops, downloading and installing VLC media player and Micro (U) torrent is easy. But I cannot figure it out on this apple.
I have to learn how to do things differently.
I have met both him and his other half and I can assure you that neither of them is from Lesbania, ......... or Belgium.Originally Posted by Butterfly

-Download the Mac version on the website.
-When it finishes downloading, Find the .dmg file on your desktop or in your downloads folder.
-Click on the .dmg file.
-Now, some .dmg files will expand themselves and install automatically in your Applications folder.....
-while on others you may have to DRAG the application into your Applications Folder.
-Drag the original .dmg file into your waste basket.
You Make Your Own Luck
If you're a regular user of VLC, from your Applications folder, drag it to your 'Dock'. If you then click and hold on the icon in the Dock, you'll bring up options such as open at start up etc (this the same as any other App you've placed in the Dock). Alternatively, when an App is opened, go into the App menu at the top of the screen and select 'Preferences'. Typically I have Safari, iTunes and uTorrent open at start up.
^ Thank you, PAG!
Thailazer,
I forgot to thank you, so "thank you" now!
