When I go to type an apostrophe...

...it makes my PC act as though I had hit the Enter key.

    What gives?

Papillion will be along shorty to explain. Be sure to take notes because he does give some detailed explanations which move down the lower levels of s/w into assembly language and device functions.

I confuse people by changing the keyboard to British English so that I get a £ sign where the hash key should be and the @ sign mover to where the " should be. Worth checking the keyboard language section to see whether you have accidentally operated some weird option.
