Thai Netbook Speakers - Tacky Tacky Tacky

I went to get some speakers for my netbook, as I was in Big C at South Pattaya I thought I would just pick up a cheap pair there, all I wanted was a 300baht or less pair of speakers, found a nice set that didn't use a USB and plugged into the mains, only got 3 USB's on the netbook without using extenstsions etc.

As I left to goto checkout I picked up the wrong pair okay they were cheaper, but I really don't need led lights round my speakers, plus they are USB, the shame of it all, here they are

    Yuck Yuck Yucky.....

    Are they at least shielded?
I got a cheap pair and as well as being only marginally more powerful than my laptop, they emit nothing but feedback squeals if a mobile is within 10 feet.
