    iTards?

Well I just won a new 27 inch iMac.

I've owned PCs going back many years but have zero experience of macs.

The only comments I've got from friends is "You'll never go back to a PC now".

So anyway, who's using a mac? What do you do with it? What applications do you run?

Do I need to now buy an iPad & iPhone?

Anything iElse you'd iLike to iShare?

What's the resolution on the 27"? I'd consider holding onto it just for the sweet screen. Nice win btw.

If you already have a PC and don't actually need a Mac, you probably won't use it. PCs do everything except for specialist things. As it happens, I need one for work. If you'd like to make a profit, PM me.

By the way, how did you win it?

give it to your girlfriend or your gay boyfriend, she or he would know what to do with it

real users don't even bother with a Mac, even for free

it could be worse though, you could install Win7 on it as a dual boot, and you could be a PC fag and a Mac fag, the best of both world.

Congratulations TizMe you will enjoy it, probably will be among the best most trouble-free computers you have ever owned, ignore the poor and the jealous PC nutters with the weird "Apple hate syndrome" and the hysteric girlie gay wannabe French, they are not living in the same world as normal people, to normal people it is a great but for some a tad pricy piece of kit, it is hands down the easiest most intuitive smooth running OS out there for normal home computer use.

I'd install Win7 on it and get rid of the crappy Mac OS.

As for screen resolution, aren't Macs 72dpi as opposed to Window's 96?

Win7 and MacOS are the same, so it's like becoming a queen after being a king, equally gay IMO

If you went into a Mac store and actually spent your money on a Mac and drink the Apple cool-aid, you're not trustworthy.

    Are you drunk or what?

Just because Win 7 tried to copy the dock, doesn't make them the same.

    and I love Win 7. It's what I use.

I've had a look at one in the shop, the screen really does look nice. The Resolution is 2560x1440 pixels.
But just like digital cameras, a higher number of pixels doesn't equate to higher quality.

Yeah, i don't actually need a Mac, and I would probably never considered purchasing one, but a freebee is a freebee... I won it as a door prize at the office Xmas party.

I'll need to dual boot it too Win7 'cos I have one or two programs that I'll need to run on win.

Can I triple boot it to also run Linux?

Thanks larvidchr, but to be honest I've never had any real troubles with home computers. (I've been in I.T since the 1970s)

I have to admit that I have had "Apple hate syndrome" as I think Apple has had some pretty dodgy anti-competive business practices (the latest is to try to beat Samsung in patent court, rather than by building better, more desirable appliences).

However, having said that, if you own an older mac, I do like the idea that an upgrade from an older version of the operating system can be done for $30. There's also no need to decide which OS X Lion edition to buy (Starter, Home, Professional, Ultimate and variants of those). It also looks like there is a higher quality of software included with the OS than with Win7.
