Thumbs up Classic BMW 2002 project car for sale

I have a classic 1974 BMW 2002 fitted with a Toyota 2000cc twin cam engine and auto box. I believe the engine is from a Toyota Safiro and is a C21. The car has had a full bare metal restoration with the car fully seam welded and put into primer. The car was completely treated with very expensive, imported German " Back to metal " solution and is ready for the new owners colour scheme of choice. The car has also had all new fuel lines, filters and pump, all new brake lines, pads a shoes and new master cylinder, a complete new wiring loom new battery. The engine has just been serviced and is ready to roll. All done by a Farang mechanic. I will also throw in a kenwood multi disc in car entertainment and amp system that cost over 80000.
Fully legal with green book which can be put in your name and only 180000 Baht. I just don't have the time to finish as have other more pressing matters. It will make someone a very nice ride.
Pictures to follow as camera battery died when trying today. Email and I will send then.
Feel free to email any questions.
The car is on Samui but can arrange at cost delivery anywhere in Thailand.
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !

I'm just going on what I was told from the Thai guy I bought it off. I'm told that it is the same lump they drop in the Skyline minus the turbo so you may well be correct on it being a Nissan twin cam and not a Toyota.
    My mistake

    If it's a 4cyl I reckon it will be an SR20 and if 6cyl an RB20.

Whats the chances of some pics ?

Fondles it is the 4 cylinder engine in it. It has just been serviced and had new fuel lines, pump and filter, new brake lines, master cylinder and new pads and shoes plus a complete new wiring loom that is on top of a complete bare metal restoration and fully seam welded. sat there in primer just waiting for a paint scheme of your choice. I'm also throwing in a multi disc Kenwood entertainment system that cost over 80 big boys and the car is a steal. it needs the interior sorting as in carpets etc but apart from that all done and done by a Farang to Farang / My standards
It will make someone a nice ride for very little money. I'm in the middle of a move from Samui and have more pressing things that need sorting and have neither the time or the space for it now so sadly she has to go.
if someone started waving cash at me right now I may well be tempted to do a deal especially if it was going to a good Farang home where it would be appreciated

Yes but it isn't a Nissan C engine.
The C engine was 1000cc and built from 1957-1960

TBH I think you should delete all your adverts and start again but get all the facts right next time.
Incorrect details will deter car enthusiasts.

Why? The car is ruined anyway without the original engine and gearbox.

Not really the original engine and gearbox were shit compared to modern Jap engine and transmission technology.

If anyone has ever driven an older 2002 they know what comfy and good handling driver is it. The original mechanical fuel injection engine tii engine was quirky difficult to maintain. A Toyota engine transplant could only make it better.
The Kugelfisher mechanical fuel injection on the original cars(1974) really sucked.

Late Bosch FI systems weren't bad. After 1974 the 2002 BMW had a Bosch CIS system which was the model for the subsequent Motronic fuel injection systems introduced in the early 80's. The Bosch motronic fuel injection is what really revolutionized the whole industry. The Japanese reverse engineered it and improved it significantly. So the the 2 liter engine in this old 2002 would be a vast improvement over the original, for the purpose of driving down the road.

it's was around the early 80's when the first Bosch motronic fuel injected car (a Porsche I think) won Le Mans 24hr race.

Yea the price being asked is really seemingly reasonable given the nice Toyota engine upgrade. The original running gear of that car was nothing to boast about. Though the 2002 platform was still a very decent car.
Plus the buyer of this car get to choose his own color. Like I said I would jump on it if I didn't already have too many vehicles to play with.

I think bottom line is that it wasn't a 'classic' in the true sense of the word, and only gained popularity with BMW enthusiasts. Certainly without the original engine and some form of reasonable history, it's worth the sum total of it's parts? I'm guessing 50,000 baht, and you'd have to be a real enthusiast to take it on at that price.

I can't figure out who in their right mind would spend 80k on a stereo system. With NO pics, it's just not on.

    Advert actually reads.
" Nissan engine and gearbox bodged into a BMW frame with probably no hope of finding an original engine or gearbox, then bodging back into the rolling chassis."
    Price.... worthless.
