I have more pics to add to the Shanghai thread. In October, I took a cruise along the Huangpu river. The weather wasn't great, but I was on holidays.
Getting on the cruise here on the Bund side of the river.
Looking towards Pudong side.
Looking towards the Bund.. The bund was super packed because it was National week in China.
My friend I was with bought the highest priced ticket so we could stand at the bow of the boat and have a great 360 degree view even if it was overcast.
^^Thanks..
We tried to see the famous YuYuan Gardens, but it was pouring buckets and overly packed, so we turned around here.
In November, I took a weekend trip to Suzhou which is only forty minutes away from Shanghai by bullet train. The city is very beautiful and is called the 'Venice of the East'. I can put a few pics up of my trip.
You can take a paid ride around in one of these.
just what are you doing? responding to your own thread with a different nick...
^If you read me introduction, you will see I could not log in with my bnice2me username. That is why I had to make another one. I thought I made it very clear.
A few more pics of Suzhou.
Climbing through here was a mindfuck, couldn't get out of the rocks.. it was a maze.
Suzhou has many gardens and former palaces you can visit. This was part of the gardens.
I just love some of the old style Chinese buildings in Suzhou.
I hope you enjoy! I'll post more of Shanghai as I go.
Thanks for the pics, much appreciated.
That bridge in post 61 reminded me of the short docu "meet me at the bridge" or something similar. It's about a 20/21 y.o. girl who was adopted by an American couple. The girl's Chinese parents gave her up when she was a baby due to the one child policy. The birth parents searched for her for years. I think it was a BBC docu which came out late last year. Nice (and touching) story.
^Thanks katie.. I'll check the docu.
Damn...Shanghai is crowded, innit.
^ yes, but I was reading something recently that said that for the first time in a long time, the population in Shanghai and Beijing has decreased in 2017. Thanks for the green.
Its been snowing for the last 2.5 days and it is rare to see snow in Shanghai.
Out my window today

Thanx for the pix, TB. I hope you add to this thread, when you've got time.
Re: the naysayers on the board, just ignore them. You can't please everybody. What I do when I get irked by someone or something from here, I step away, keep myself busy with life, and refrain from posting or logging on. Cheers & happy Sunday!
^I hear you .
I hope to get out this week as I'm off to take some pics of ancient canal towns around Shanghai. I'll take pictures.
