What made you choose China, just out of interest?

^Thanks, Slap. I am using an iphone for most of these, but I bought a Canon Rebel recently and want to start using it more. I've always been fascinated by Chinese history and have read many books about the history. Shanghai's history is absolutely fascinating. It is a wild ride that's for sure. Chinese culture takes some getting used to, but if you can survive here, you can survive anywhere . I don't know if people realize just how fast Shanghai has evolved and grown in the past ten years. Not just Shanghai, but most of China. In two days people can shut down a business and put another one up. These people are hardworking and paid diddly squat by the government for their 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week.

Cheers for all the greens, folks. I don't have the ability to green back at the moment.

So looking at the Pudong skyline from the Bund. Walking along the Bund is a must do if you visit Shanghai. You get to see the skyline and the Bund is worth seeing because of so much history here. You can also take a cruise along the Huangpu River.

The Shanghai tower on the right, is the world's second tallest building(632 metres) behind Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828 metres).

The Bund is super special as it has been around since 1840 when Shanghai became the leased territory of foreign countries. The Bund has focused on external trade and houses many banks. The buildings are mainly made of stone and in the style of Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance, and reminds me of Europe.

Thanks for the thread. It is a city made to explore; a different district each day and easy to get around on the metro (if you don't mind crowds)

^Thanks, Shanghai is a huge metropolis with many different areas to explore. I saw quite a few areas a few years ago, but there is lots more to see. I just don't have much time during the week to explore.

@cisco999 Thanks, and glad you enjoy.

    More Corona advertising

Carry my bicycle twenty steps up and over this and back down every morning.. good workout. twenty mins each way.. killer in the heat we've had (37 degrees yesterday).

    Start of rush hour traffic

Vape shops are big over here.

Lawai Jie which is a pedestrian street of various food from all over the world and some good pubs.

    Crabs, anyone?

This crab was about to escape...

    A bit like Britain here.

    Glad you're enjoying it.

Lived in SH for two years and hated every minute of it.

Moved to a beach town in Guangdong - much happier. Rain's coming - get the brolly out.

My entrance way.. you can see my white bike parked on the ramp way at the back. There isn't normally room to park it where the bikes/scooters go.

Took my bike to Korea town this evening. This is a street that has Korean restaurants, grocery stores and bars.

Passed a stream on the way

Coming into Korea town here, you can see Korean (Hangul signage on everything). The double decker bus, must be the tour Shanghai bus.

Thought I was in Seoul for a minute..haha. Seriously though, this place is freakin' awesome considering I lived in Korea for four years and love Korean food and drink. I have a friend that lives here and went to a bit of a birthday party for a Korean friend. Mingling with Korean and Chinese people who speak English as well which is always nice.

Started here for some chicken and soju.

Ended up on Korea street which is a pedestrian street with a ton of bars and restaurants where you can sit outside.

Fuck my friends were ordering everything on the menu. I wasn't hungry as I ate so much chicken previously.

A few Korean friends and one Chinese friend.

Korean people know how to party.. lol
