Did not know prostitution is illegal in Japan as well, from 1958. Pity as it killed off the Oiran gals, weird and wonderful

Mine is due next May... my bro-in-law knows a mechanic/work-shop where I can get mine done without hassle.. they tend to be pedantic about safety.. just had a call from the dealer, as we were late (missing 1 needed parking document signature) the process started from Tuesday... next week is a holiday.. it normally takes 2 weeks to get possession of the car (transfer of ownership, etc)...

Me thinks one can't just rock up, pay a daily rate for a stall and start flogging goods* Manuka honey (unlike free-style NZ/Thai)...

Everything depends on who you know...

55 nice pic, Dill.. had those sunnies stolen at the gym ages ago...

If you guys wana lose weight.. this is the place... might be the heat, food (combination of both) but I'm down to 75 kg *from 78 kg in just over 3 weeks...

No gym, just body-weight exercises at the park (pull-ups, squats, etc) bought a skipping rope from the $1 shop... skipping is good... damn! leaving myself open for lots of gay jokes with this post... heh...

Hope to join a Muay Thai gym later on...

    ^ 555... just be happy...

but living in a hot climate (well, it's hot here now 35c +) I reckon being slim and light is best... not for any vain reason, just because I tend to sweat less being lighter...

also, more choice when it comes to clothing (domestic) as the nips are mostly slim, health nutters...

    Yes, be happy..

Good luck on the move! My cousin and his Japanese wife lived in Japan for 7 years (now live in Australia). I lived nearby in Korea for four years and never visited. I still hope to soon. I didn't realize Japan was as hot as Shanghai. It has been insanely hot (36 plus for the last few weeks).

I had a friend who lived there and they said it was expensive, but a lot of how expensive it is depends on your lifestyle. Teaching English there you get peanuts and the salaries haven't went up. My good friend and her family works in an international school north of Tokyo and they love it.

^ I plan to open my own small Ekaiwa/private tutoring business from home... also sell NZ health food products (Manuka honey, Propolis, etc) as well...

Went to see another house today - cheaper, but wasn't nearly as nice as the one we are about to sign a contract for... just a last minute comparison... Will have to make another thread about housing...

It sure is hot, BN... looking forward to moving as my house is near the beach.
You should visit Japan, BN it's a great place and the people are very umm 'nice' (for want of a better word)...

Only a couple of times. Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka, but always when the yen was high and the dollar low. Fukuoka sounds pretty cool, and the pictures of food, veg, and liquor got me to thinking about stopping on the way back so SFO one year.

The pricing you put up was shocking as you could tell by my comment on the car.

    ^ Yep, I could tell...

Wondered how much my car would be in LOS...

Give me a shout I've you're ever out this way.

    I'm still friendless lol...

Hardly any Gaijin around these parts... mainly Asian tourists...

Have too much time on my hands (waiting for my car) and can't move into my house till the 19th...

then I can start my biz, being an international language learning development and instruction consultant (or ILLDICK for short).

Not sure if Japan is cheap, or NZ is just over the top expensive.

The few times I was in Japan for a week or so each trip I was in a 5-star hotel in Tokyo, which sure as shit wasn't cheap.

Anyway Dick, good luck with all your plans.

Have you not had the "girlie" flyers through your letterbox yet? Student girls renting themselves out - with prices on one side for you - and earnings for them on the other side... the pimp waiting outside in the big black car for your hour of thrills... seen it.

Sounds like a great idea! I'm keen to make money with any new venture...

I will PM you with my contact details.

First though, we will both get Part Time jobs, get to know our neighbors/local community - while we build up our home business (step by step)...

So how much for a new 4runner? And insurance for one?

That health insurance is 30 nz dollars a month, a week or a day?

I paid attention to prices shopping yesterday, Milk 1gal 2% at 179. 1 doz large grade A eggs .79 avacado 1 usd. each. Liquid chlorine for the pool 12 usd for four gallons. Parking= free.

For a side job just get some backgammon, chess and checkerboards and set them up in the school after hours. Make the money by selling snacks drinks and disposable diapers to the old folks.
    Good luck with it.

Not too keen on the "niebor" aspect. I seppo getting to really know them depends on your ability to speak the lingo. I guess if they are smokin hot school girls who the hell cares. Maybe you can "school" them up on western values. Just kidding, please don't tell them the idea came from...........

They start around $25k (NZ) and up to around $50k for the top of the range 4WD with the 4 litre V6.

Insurance would be about $600 per year (3rd party) to around $1,200 for full cover... depending on your age, driving history, etc...

Thanks for the advice, yeah, we will sell stuff to our captive audience... maybe LT's pies heh... our Manuka honey, etc...

Hi dicky, good to see you're settling in nicely. Vely intelesting, the plices of stuff there. thnx for d pix & stories. But I'd like more pics - maybe go to a farmer's market, with ppl sitting outdoors, selling their wares. Everyday, outdoor cultural stuff. Get off your lazy ass & take pics! Even of seniors practicing tai chi or karate in the park! Cheers and good luck in your future venrures. Who knows, I might one day make it to Japan and stop by Fu*k-u-oky in the midst of a multi-city tour.
