@navynine - I'm not in Taiwan anymore. I heard aabt Sun Moon lake from my friend but it wasn't included in my itinerary, so I didn't go there. Maybe next time...

I'll try to add pix when my net gets better. Am posting frm fone now. Yay, it's Friday! TGIF!

Fort San Domingo was originally made by the Spaniards, then later occupied by the Dutch then the Brits.

    more info here
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_San_Domingo

It has been converted to a museum & tourist attraction. Entrance fee for adults: 80 ntd. No double pricing for foreigners. Locals of Taipei can enter for free, but they must show a residence card. If one is Taiwanese but from other counties, he/she must pay full price.

This was my 1st day of sightseeing, and being a history buff, I read most of the captions on the walls. Towards the end of my trip, I was already "templed out" and camera-weary, so I didn't read descriptions anymore and took lame-ass photos. lol

After a long day of sightseeing, my friend and I parted ways. I passed by the 2-28 park on the way to my accoms, and saw this singer. He was quite good and I made a donation.

Keelung is a coastal city on the NE side of Taipei, it took ~1.5h to get there from Taipei Main Stn via trains.

Saw this Star Cruise ship at the docks...

My friend suggested to have lunch at Keelung, since there were more eateries in Keelung than in Yeliu. These were our lunchmates.

This was the lunch menu. It's good that my friend was with me to translate!

First time that I've seen this - a chopstick warmer!

This was lunch... soup with fish balls & dumpling plus fried egg noodles, < 100 ntd. Soup was good, noodles were okay.

After lunch, we took a bus and got to Yeliu after ~20 min. Dropped off at this intersection. You'll have to take the road on the left and walk ~600m to get to Yeliu Geopark. For public transport, you can buy an Easycard or iCash card, add value to it, and use it on the bus, trains or MRT. You can also buy stuff at 7/11 with it.

Along that road, there are places where you can buy seafood.

You can also choose the seafood and have them cook it for you. There's a small resto inside this place.

Entrance to Yeliu/Yehliu Geopark. Fee is 80 ntd for adults.

    From wikipedia:
Yehliu is a cape in Wanli district, New Taipei, Taiwan. The cape forms part of the Daliao Miocene Formation. It stretches ~1,700 meters into the ocean and was formed as geological forces pushed the Datuin Mountains out of the sea.

This is a replica of the "cute princess" rock. They have given names to some of the distinct-looking rocks. "Cute Princess" and "Queen's Head" rocks are the most famous.

Lots of directions, you won't lose your way... unless you're already lost (heh)

I didn't have my pic taken with the "Queen" since it was so hot, there were lots of ppl and I didn't want to wait.
I won't post abt it in my social media anyway, just on TD.
