Just gone through this thread for the first time. Some very, very nice photos in there Bustak, really praiseworthy. You have a beautiful eye for composition, and many of the pictures have an interesting "take".
I less liked the "baby lens" ones, and the highly computer manipulated ones, but thats a personal take, and not meant as a criticism. Everybodys mileage is different.
A bit of selective editing, and from the photos here alone, you would have the basis for a nice coffee table book along the lines of "Chiang Mai: People and places".
I have just, really just started getting into photography, first underwater and recently picked up a DSLR (Nikon D60). The lin to the photography site here says its a piece of crap (sigh!), but I selected it as you can get a good quality underwater housing for it for a reasonable price (not an Ikelite!).
Now I have an urge to go out and give the camera a whirl. Sure gonna have problems as I think the camera is smarter than I am (probably an instamatic could be as well!).
Anyway, one quick question if you don't mind. How much down sized are the photos you post here? My attempt (once ) to down size the photo lost so much "richness", that I havenot tried again, and don't think this site would let me post 2Meg pictures!
^ thanks nidhogg, I really appreciate the kind words! :)

today I spent the day riding around CM & snapping some pictures. Most of the pictures are out of the camera, with little color correction.
It was a lot of fun taking these, but tired as hell! :)

I might have a few more.
What a diverse day, I think the pictures reflect that. That's what I like about Thailand, whatever you have a taste for you can easily find it.
actually I dropped the ball on the Muay Thai photos. I should of got a far shot to show no one was watching.
It was pretty sad. I'll go back there again, it's easy to get to & free.

Looks like lots of colour correction to me. Are ye fibbing?Quote:

It's all in camera. I just used custom settings, adjusting the saturation, sharpness, etc. If it was done in photoshop, it'd be a little color correction, unless I didn't know what I was doing. :)
I shot in jpg & RAW, so I have a "standard" copy of these images. The one of the man smoking didn't look good, his skin tone was way to dark (in the saturated jpg), so I opened up the RAW file & cc that one in PS.
I think this kid looks like Scampy:

this was taken w/ the LX3:

in the jpg his skin was dark, so I converted it to grayscale in PS:

Why is post photography correction cheating?
It's still a creative process and is no more 'cheating' than taking the photo itself which is the fundamental and sometimes only action but it's only the beginning of the creative process. Developing a photo isn't cheating, no is improving a painting before presenting it to an audience.
55555....maybe a clue to what I was saying
You think I don't post process everything I post on here?
Your Granny must suck eggs like a lolitas girl with you around.
cock is not a photographer....but an artiste.

Amazing photos! Keep up the posting.
I went to film school and you are putting anything I ever did to shame.
Looks like I need to get a new camera!
^ thanks!
oops, the last 3 shots were taken w/ my LUMIX LX3, I posted them to the wrong thread.
