It was only light rain so I thought I'd do a run to Makro. Halfway there I hit a wall of water. It's still raining.

Yeah, lovely sunny day. I almost did the washing. Looking at it now I'm glad I didn't.

A beautiful sunny day in Ubonratchathani, our first day in a long time with no rain.

Last night the water arrived in Nongbua Lamphu. The gf drove home early enough to dodge the worst of it. By this morning the area between the Tessaban and the bus station was well under water. Some people were still trying to drive through it, not all successfully.
Locals say this is the worst flooding ever seen here. There are a couple of reasons why. One is that that area is surrounded by the two principal rivers out of town, one is fed from the hills above town and another meanders all the way from Na Klang. It seems that in a masterstroke of planning both areas released water so that it arrived in town at more or less the same time. Na Klang is far and the river winds a lot, probably there is a lot more to come.
Another is that the area is increasingly built up. There was an enormous area opposite the bus station that was filled this year, it used to be a lake in the wet season, now the lake is in the road. Even my own soi, which was a dirt road last year is now 2km of concrete. The project is just a concrete slab with no drainage works so today it is a 2km dam, water flooding across it where it can. An old lady along the soi was out with a handheld fishing net catching small fish as they came across the lane this morning. Out of adversity springs opportunity.

Pretty much hot and sunny with no rain all day. Was out at the places that had some flooding yesterday, and today there's actually higher flooding in an extra few places that weren't flooded yesterday, despite pics of downtown being much less flooded.

Guess it's either upstream flow from tributaries or release from the reservoirs.

    Hopefully will fok off.

Same here. Locally the roads are drying. Downtown the two rivers are still high and not going down yet.
