    Tourist wankers are back

This seppo bint posted on Facebook how she came to the rescue of this poor farang tourist who had been "randomly attacked on his way home (from Zoe in Yellow), stabbed, robbed and held at gunpoint".

Obviously a lot of people called bullshit (and a few idiots believed it).

    Turns out:

Yes folks, the tourist wankers are well and truly back.

The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth

It is strange that there are certain types of expats, who were themselves once tourists before one day changing their status and becoming "residents" ( often but not always after "falling deeply in love" with a well used prostitute or cashier) soon start to assume superiority to, look down on and resent the presence of tourists as if they are some kind of inferior species.

It's strange that they post wordy, insipid drivel in response to other peoples' posts, too.

I went oop North for a few days and while I was away it seems a mass of tuk tuks returned to the streets.

    All good signs.

In happy to see them back in increasing numbers. It’s taken some of the heat out of the local economy, which was suffering due to a lack of customers.

It has brought many small businesses back from the brink. Much greater choice of restaurants in the last few weeks.

Whatever the traffic hassles, ride handling apps mean that prices are still reasonable if you need to go further than the local supermarket.

Tourist businesses are recruiting and re-opening, creating jobs and greater choice for residents. It all proves how resilient the local economy is for staff and customers who are used to a tourism based economy, but lessons have been learned about how fragile that economy can be in the modern world.

It's actually good news that the comeback is now and not later in the year, causing a sudden rush to high season numbers. It gives tourist-supported businesses a chance to recruit staff and prepare for what should be a good year end.
If it had happened in October, I suspect people would be fighting over the same limited resources and prices would probably jump dramatically as a result.
As it is, I'm already seeing Grab prices have gone up as much as 40-50% on the routes I use. Normally surge pricing happens during rain.

There's a fair chance that it mirrors most of South East Asia, eh?

Worth mentioning where he’s talking about, though.

Still it’s worth more than the comment of a sex tourist in Canada who likely made it about as far north as Soi Cowboy.
